SDX/Futaba servo spacing
Save me a little time here please, guys.......

When Futaba servos are installed in a SWM SDX, which one needs to be spaced out a little? The front right or the aft right? Intuitively it would seem to be the front one, but I'd rather ask and confirm.

Thanks,

Ben Minor

If both servos are spaced out the same distance, what interference is being avoided? Rod-to-frame or pushrod-to-pushrod/pushrod-to-bellcrank?

Thanks,
Ben

2 spacers for the one closest to the main mask, the rest has 1 spacer each to get the rods parallel with the frame. I run Futaba S9451s.
It is the alu. spacers from the Turbulence.

I spaced both on the right as well mainly for the servo horn to clear the frame and have the rods parallel. Like others, I used the extra D3 spacers I had. The left side didn't need any. I'm running BLS253's with Quick UK horns.

My lovely wife bought me an SDX SWM for Christmas and I have a few quick questions.

1. What is the P/N of the spacers you guys mentioned from the D3?
2. Quick UK has some nice alum. servo wheels but the holes are 15.5mm. The SDX manual calls for 15mm. Anybody using the alum. servo wheels and is the extra 0.5mm a problem. If it is then I will have to drill some plastic ones at 15mm.

Or if you know of anyone else that has alum. servo wheels with 15mm spacing for JR servos.

Thanks,
Keith

The pn for the D3 servo plates is 0412-179. If you dont already have a D3, probably just as easy getting the Quick UK ones.

I'm also using the alum. servo wheels from Quick UK. WHen using 15.5mm just adjust your swash mix settings to suit. I have heard of some using the servo horn set for the Trex700 from Quick UK as well and may be exactly 15mm but check to make sure.

Thanks for the part number and info on the Quick UK servo wheels. I will get the wheels and Quick UK spacers. I don't have a D3, just two Leptons, a Freya and an EVO 50. And now an SDX. D3 would be nice but at the moment I can't justify it, especially being unemployed since July. It is on the list but keeps moving down.

I have 35mm JR wheels which have nothing exactly at 15mm so I would have to drill them and I figure they wouldn't both be exact so I might as well get the Quick UK wheels and add some bling to it, I'll check the TREX ones and see what those are too.

Thanks again.
