Vbar Gov News
This is a quote from Uli today about the release of the Vbar gov software. This is only one sentence from a post, but I'm not giving out any more info than this
The PC editing will take some time, but i think we can release the new complete package in a few weeks. It will be called "5.1" and will exist in parallel to the current 5.0.
Don't take this as Gospel, Everyone knows that things can and do happen, but you should be able to update your pro software (free) to have the gov within a few weeks.

Everyone that is waiting for this will be pleasantly surprised with the results, I know that i am more than satisfied with the gov as it stands right now.

Ulrich and crew never rest, should be a great and welcomed update!...Once upon a time there were Nitros, flybars and frequency pins...

Also, the update won't only be the addition of the governor function. Uli sent Kyle the update (minus the governor...just the "tweaks" in the flight controls), and V-Bar just keeps getting better and better (-:

I've been reading some posts regarding the beta gov feature and curious about one thing. Will the gov work for both nitro and electric helicopters?

X-Gear LLC,

The fact that the update will include some "tweaks" (improvements...not fixing anything that's wrong, just making it better) in the flight portions of the software isn't "top secret", as I've seen it discussed a little in other places already.

No big surprise really, as Uli never stops working to improve the V-Bar

Interesting, will be interesting to see the final gov product. Though I'm not really keen on installing a mechanical pickup on my electric helicopters as I'm assuming that would be the requirement.

For electrics; it will work, but it will depend on what ESC you are using, some have built in delay on throttle = bad, some don't = good.

I played a bit with sensors on electrics, I got RPM readings with a phase sensor, but I do not know if it's going to work inflight, if it has good enough resolution etc, that we have to test our self later.

Be good if it could tie into one of the motor wires like the Brushless RPM sensor for Eagletree loggers.

I'm annoyed we can't use the gov on Mini Vbars!

Would be handy if could run gov stuff through Rx A which is unused if using Sats.

Btw Mikado need a big warning NOT to plug any power into Rx A!! I only realised that later & counted myself lucky for not plugging power in there! This warning could even be printed on the Mini Vbar like Total G has for 2 ports that have 5.2V limits.

You mean like the fat bold warning printed on the second page in the quickguide

Never connect power to RX A, RX A is signal
transmission-only.

Okay since we aren't keeping this part a secret, the new swash and tail algorythms are freakin amazing. IMO worth the update for just that, sort of like dave and kyle got. It is awesome. About the gov, each round of the beta software got better and better, and at this point it is incredible, and Uli as well as the testers feel it is ready for the release. Like X-Cell Gear quoted, it is all done execpt meshing the PC software together. For those who havn't flown or tested it yet, it was well worth the wait! AND like everyone wanted to know it will be FREE!Baltimore Boyz

i would have to assume Castle=bad in the case above??? I had to disable gov mode on my Phoenix ESC when I installed vbar. put a nasty wag in the tail that was immediately and completely eliminated by moving to endpoint mode on the ESC.
if it ain't broke, break it.

No, CC is ok, it has nothing to do with the built in GOV in the ESC, on the contrary, for sample Jive wont work.

It has to do with airplane mode, and if it has delay there.
Align and CC is ok, Scorpion and Kontronik is not currently.

As MrMel has stated CC works, actually it works very well. The ESC used in the previously posted test video was is a CC 80A in airplane mode.
