As a rider myself, I find this leaving me very sad...

Sad that I know my tax money paid for his medical bills...

Sad that I had to pay for the life flight medical helicopter...

Sad that I am paying for the accident investigation...

Sad that I am paying for his ER room treatment.

Sad that I am paying for his long term medical care (if he lives)...

Sad that I will most likely have to pay for his funeral if he dies...

As for the guy himself, well, he is just an A$$HOLE...

I was trying to make a point... The crazy guy doing 157 MPH represents all the crazy people out there... Even though I may not directly pay FOR HIM, I'm sure there are plenty of crazy people just like him in California I have and will continue to pay for. -Steve

I say the same thing almost every time I read about a motorcycle wreck. Thankfully he only killed himself, and I hope it was one of them with loud pipes.Ask your doctor if your heart is healthy enough for Radio Control Helicoptering.

Just another statistic, he had prior arrest for minor consumption and resisting arrest, plus driving on a revoked license. Sorry to say but I have no sympathy for this guy, I feel for his family and friends but he is just an idiot and only 19 years old.Tea Parties are for little girls with imaginary friends

As a former motorcycle dealership owner I have to say this is more common than most think. I always used to cringe at young kids buying there first sportbikes, especially when they had little or no riding experience. If I sold 20 600 class sportbikes in a year probable 12 would come back totalled within just a few weeks. Funny part is these kids cant believe why full coverage insurance is so expensive for them, so they just get liability.Team Heli Wholesaler

I feel bad for the kid. He's only 19 years old and obviously has made some dumb decisions, the majority of us have been in his shoes. We've all done dumb things. Most people use the old "I never did anything that dumb" line, but it's all relative.

Hopefully he gets better, wisen's up a bit and contributes to society.

+1 to EvoFlight 50's comments.

I was young and dumb with a fast motorcycle a few decades back. It was only dumb a$$ luck that let me avoid a similar situation. But I eventually learned and made it to my mid 50's so far.

I hope he does recover and learn from his mistakes..

I don't wish anything bad on anybody. I have just seen some really poor judgement when it comes to this kind of thing and it makes me angry because this type of behavior effects all of us in many ways, especially those of us that want fast motorcycles.Team Heli Wholesaler

Nah... pretty sure he stayed below regulated air space in his brief 100+ foot flight.

Cop: Sir, have you been drinking? Driver: Why? Is there a fat girl in my backseat?

Big difference - bikes in the 1970's topped out at 100 or so and making 60-70 horse was tons of power - that is most likely why I am still alive to fly heli's. I have SLOWED down a lot as the gray hair has increased lol.

Now you can go to a dealer, need no prior experience, "buy" it on loan with poor credit history and get a motorcycle with 160+ HP and is regulated only by the computer to limit speed to 187 mph or 300 kph.

But only in the USA - go to Europe and you will see a true system for graduating through the ranks and only the experienced seasoned riders get the fast bikes.
