Total-G gain on Rave ENV?
I'm having some tail problems and it seems to be the Total-G gain. On the first flight i was getting a little bit of a drift and i thought to just raise the gain. It was at 48 (the stock setting) but a more experienced pilot at the field reccomeneded starting at 80. So i did, but didnt' notice anything different, still getting the drift. I slowly raised it, by incriments of 5. 85 still drifing.I thought i might be going to high but someone told me that they had the same kind of drift up until 90 on the gain so i thought " woohoo 90 will be perfect", so i put it up to 90 but i still get the same drift. I then did 95 and it was sitll there, although maybe a little better. At 95 i also started to notice kind of a tail "vibration", or "jittering". It might have started before that but 95's just when i noticed it. I thought it was just since i was flying in strong winds and had been since first setting up the Rave. Just 2 days ago i was looking at it to see what was wrong with it cause when i posted something about it, someone reccomended trying a different servo horn. When the servo horn was off, i was powering up the RX power to center the servo before putting on the arm, but i noticed that the gear itself (with no arm and no load) was jittering...I could actually feel it. I put the arm on it (still no link) and i could see it too. The arm was actually vibrating (very small) and it correlates directly to what i was getting in flight. I first thought that it could be my step down but i verified that it was plugged in. The i thought about the really really high gain i was running (although i heard of people running crazy high gains with it). With my G-View2, i slowly lowered the gain to see if i could get rid of the jittering. I lowered it by 5, and i can say that it got a little tiny bit better as i went, but didn't completely go away until 75 on the gain. I'm afraid that if i fly with 75 i'll just get the drift like before. I've already adjusted links on the tail to fix this problem and that didn't do much for me so i'm wondering what gains are you all running on your Raves? Is 75 a normal number? or was i closer at 95? Thanks

make sure you have no sub trim in radio, also that you have it on the right servo type selection, tail rotor neutral is set in software. you should be able to get the gain pretty high witout issue.

Just checked and there is no sub trims. the correct servo is selected (JR 8900G) and the tail rotor is set in the software. I also thought that i wouldn't have a problem but it comes back to the gain once the jittering stops at 75
