Dx8 rudder channel
I was having a problem with my gyro drifting on me nose left. I changed out gyro and several other things and finally noticed that my rudder channel is almost never at 0. I made sure there was no trim or sub trim and also saw that it varied as i moved throttle up and down and no input on rudder. I also changed to a new model and it was also not at 0 on the rudder channel. I can turn off radio and then back on and the rudder channel may be at a different value than before I turned it off. I have called HH and am sending to them today. I aslo noticed with throttle all the way down I can gentley pull down some more and the rudder channel changes again. I think something wrong with that pot, gimball or wiring. Maybe I will get it back by the end of January. Looks like I will be grounded till then.

If you pull up the d/r/AFR screen, you can see a perentage read out of stick position. Check and see how repeatable the centering is. On a friend's new radio, two of the three gimbals were failing to center to any better than 1% when I checked, a variance that can absolutely induce a gyro to drift if it occurs on the rudder channel.

Sorry for taking so long to respond but HH fixed by replacing the pot. Everything works great right now.

I am on my second dx8 and both of my radios had this (issue being channel fails to return to zero within 2%)issue on the rudder channel. I have since been looking at other local flyers using the dx8s by turning the radio on and looking at the servo monitor screen. My findings are that basically every dx8 I have seen has this issue but all to differing degrees and on different channels. How much this issue affects performance is hard to say but I do believe that having this issue on rudder with a helicopter is particularly bothersome for more reasons than one.

I am interested in a veiw point I have on this matter, Is the problem by any chance caused by the wiring loom to the pots either pulling the pot or settling in a different position because of the wiring positions?

Just a thought, there seem to be a fair few problems showing on the pots, and if so it can't just be the rudder affected, I wonder if todays gyro's are picking up the difference and amplifying the problem till it is visible, but the other channels are not as noticeable
Good luck

my rudder channel is fine... only the aeleron is at -2%, but it does nothing... my heli doesn't move around or turn to the left at all or anything just by hovering... don't need any trims... just used swash leveler... the rudder is something different though, you cant have offset input on there...JR-XG8
