Flying in Puerto Rico
It has been well over 15 years since I last flew RC in Puerto Rico. I will be visiting my family from January 8 to January 17 and would like to swing by a few flying sites while over there. I will be staying in Coamo most of the time, but will visit Bayamon Caguas and Mayaguez once or twice during my stay.

I remember a site in Mayaguez near "la Atunera", and the site behind the paint factory next to hwy 52 near Caguas. I have no clue about any other places.

Hope to meet some of you when I get there, and hopefully I can take one of my birds with me.

Rafael

I was at Borinquen RC Club when I visit 2 years ago (Canobanas), they moved the gate just a little down the road but the Club still in the same place.
I miss all the old guys in PR.
If someone that knows Carlos Franco (who still teaches in Tortuguero) reads this, please tell him Chaguito in the US said hola.

La Tunera
I'm in Mayaguez right now, but will be here only for this week. It's been 13 years since I lived here and I don't know if the field is even still open. It would periodically be locked up when I was here and we'd just circumvent the gate somehow or another. If I get a chance, I'll go by there and see if anyone is still flying. There is a group at a field west of Arrecibo and a couple of guys here on RR who live in PR. Maybe someone will chime in with more info. steve.

torombolo:

can you post gps coordinates to these sites? I went to the AMA website and only found 6 AMA clubs registered in Puerto Rico. I have those already uploaded unto my GPS, but I would like to have more options.

Gracias
Rafael

As of right now, I have these flying sites, obtained from the AMA website, and some from memory. (I spent some time on Google Maps a few days ago.)

http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=U...7,78.837891&z=4

If you can post gps corrdinates to the flying sites that would be great, If you prefer not to publish them, You could send me a PM or email with the information.

Thanks
Rafael

there are a group of guys who fly at the stadium in Isabela.
There is a great hobby shop in Isabela called La Sorpresa and the owner and others fly together a lot.
Great bunch of guys and each time I am go to PR I stop by and buy something I need.
