Sport new main frames for Mini servos.
Anyone seen these? New side frames cut out to accept Mini servos as opposed to micro servos.

I just have one question, WHY?
60% of the time, it works every time!

the mini servos are a big plus if you have a FBL set up. With a flybarless set up the micro servos strip very easily. With the mini servos they do not strip and in most cases are quicker and have more torque.
I have a FBL 450 Pro with the mini servo setup and is great, dont have to worry about stripping servos every crash now.

Metal geared micro servos dont strip! 2kg+ of torque is more than enough for a FBL 450 especially since you generally use shorter servo arms anyway which increases the torque.

You are needlessly adding 40g of weight IMO.

110% disagree with you there, I was running hitec 5065mg and they would strip EVERY crash, as well as JR 285MG's. Not sure where you are getting that info from but I am guessing you do not have experience with the micro servos and fbl, doesnt matter if they are metal gears they strip very easily.

Here are the frames I have http://www.infinity-hobby.com/main/...roducts_id=6465
Havnt stripped a servo gear since I changed it over, using align 510 MG servos. It is a very quick 450 and crash damage is lessened.

I run the HS5065s on a FB Pro and they strip very easy, I am guessing many of the digital MG servos have the same issue, tight DB means no give in a crash, means stripped servos... I ran the HS65MGs in a V1 for three years, and I only ever had one servo fail, and it was a pot, not the gears, and I did some crash'in!

I would like to see that 450 of yours fly with the mini servos, got any video?

I do kinda agree with Richard that it might be a tad "overkill" but hey... I like overkill

I held out forever on adding a standard servo to the tail of my 500, and today I did my first flying with MKS BLS890, and wow, I had no idea what I was missing!

sorry guess it was a misunderstanding, I thought you were saying that they never strip in crashes. The frames/conversion were only $20 so it was worth giving it a shot. If theres one thing I hate its replacing servo gears.
Hoping to get a couple videos, I have the heli apart right now as I am replacing the 3G unit with a beast x and going to the s bus receiver to cut down on clutter. Havnt had ,uch time at all to work on anthing with the holidays.

HS65s are awesome servos, but many of the FBL systems require a digital servo.
