OS 55HZ-R Heli Engine..
What do you guys think about this new 55HZ-R Heli Engine, in comparison with the YS 56SR and OS 55 HZ-H?

I think it's around $ 340

So OS finally has a regulated 55. You can buy the YS 56SR for 270....and it has more grunt.....Noticeably more. No brainer to me

Now if OS uses a better rear bearing and honors the warranty, it may actually be a competition between OS and YS...

Or does OS continue having trouble with carburation.

Stay tuned, this should be good.

O.S. rear bearing
O.S. has been having rear bearing troubles since I cannot remember. My first 61SX-WC was my first experience to bad rear bearings and it does not seem to have been fixed. However, I do not think it is the bearing as much as it is a lubrication problem.

As to which engine, Webra, Rossi, and Y.S. will all smoke an O.S., and will usually last longer with no problems. Then again when you expect, or try to get 150% from your engine, do not expect it to be trouble free.

ArronJohnson, I bet if you put that YS on a real tuned pipe, you would not stop grinning for days. I have been using YS for many years and they have good power, but when put on a pipe wow!

In my experience, I would go with a Rossi, and if you have some engine experience get a tuned pipe (muffled). Then use a good 10% or 15% fuel and you will have more power than the O.S. on Expensive 30%, or at least the same. Or if you are stuck on Japanese engines, then the YS with a pipe. Everything is called a pipe these days, even though it is not. A true tuned pipe acts a little like a supercharger. Well it actually forces the engine to breath better and make more power. They can be a little work to get "on the pipe", but when you do, you will definitly know you are "there".

I already have a OS 50 Hyper, and a YS 56 SR.

Now for my future heli, i've already made an investment in 55HZ-R Heli Engine.
It seems to be a great engine, lets see how it Performs

I know it's not released in the US, but 2 weeks back I got my engine shipped out to me. I'll be testing out this engine soon, with the back pressure system.
The quality of product seems to be excellent, hope it gives out enough power too

Boy!! can you believe the conversion kit is $229!!! That's more than what I paid for my old 50 Hyper!!

I have an idea! Considering the price of the conversion kit, someone should start making heli with twin motors..

It 'might' be worth it if the bearings will stay in it better. I already have to detune the engine for bearing life on the older 55HZ.
