Gran Turismo 5
So what happened to all the folks getting GT5 any tips yet? and how do you like the game? I finally got all my license but those last 2 were a booger bear! and I'm still working on the Historic Race. I've come close but no cigar so I'm still tweaking the car.

so many things to do on that game! I kept looking on the used car lot for a pickup to complete the truck race. It took forever for a pickup to show up on the lot. I had passed on a Ford lightning early on, finally a Toyota showed up.

I've been working on rally racing lately.

Only complaint I have is that I'm a huge Nissan GTR fan. I wanted to drive one in some races with the cockpit view but they're all right hand drive dammit! It's annoying.

Great Game Indeed
CWALDO, what car are you using for the historic? That was really tough to get. There are only a handful of cars for that race.
I got it with the 1970 Dodge Challenger RT from the new car dealer, full race mod, and some tuning setting I found online.

The licences are not needed. You can do any race you want, no licence required.

Get out of Arcade Mode! Its fun ,but GT Life is more fun.
Had some good races online to. Me and Dood were on with 12 others racing Nurenbur Ring. WOW.

Any race you need a car for, shoot me you PSN name and i can send you the car you need. Save your credits! You will need them!

That's funny harshflyer, 70 Challenger in "plum crazy" paint is what I used also! Lots of upgrades, especially the fully adjustable tranny. Otherwise there's no top end.

One thing that stumped me was on the Top Gear track in the "specials events". I think the car race is the Lotus Exige. I CANNOT keep that damn thing on the track, let alone place in the race

I use the wheel too. Try doing Nascar races without it!

I was racing online the other night with one of those "elite" racers.. We're talking ranked in the top 25 nationally type drivers..

He shared a little secret to success in the game, and that is tuning the vehicles. Not just copying someone else's tuning, but UNDERSTANDING how to tune the vehicles.

All the information a person needs is right here, in a book called Tune to Win, by Carroll Smith

Tuning is tough to say the least. I find changing ONE thing at a time is the only way to really get a feel for how it affects the car. Very time consuming though. If I can not get the car to respond with minor ajustments, I change one thing alot, and see what the car responds too. Learning to understand oversteer and understeer, you can really start to get a feel for how you like you car to handle.Still asking why

Who needs tuning? Just get more horse power LOL

I am still trying to win the Gran Turismo event in the expert class and the one car that I have that will leave those true race cars behind is the Bugatti but the problem is handling this thing does not want to stop or turn. It's hard to compete with a TRUE RACE CAR with the way they corner but man the Bugatti maxed out at over 1000 hp will run 224 mph with factory transmission and gear box. My decked out Lambo is almost there but you just dont have any margin for error or they are on you like white on rice. Plus I still play with the ps3 controler and not a wheel. I dont know if I would ever get used to a steering wheel.
