v120d02 ver 2 doing 3D ?
I've read that the speed controller and 3 axis gyro were both changed to allow higher rpm and roll rates, but i still can't found any videos or statements that this heli is now 3d capable. can anyone (since the revisions) can say how it's doing?

Markus V120D02 3D?
Dizzymarkus mentioned that he is going indoor flying tonight. There may be possible 3D attempts with his new V120D02.

Hopefully he will post later tonight!

Hmmm....02....05...?

I did have er indoors lastnight and its safe to say in stock form of an intermediate pilot -- it wont 3d Well I did say I dont really 3d -- I'm upright and invert flyer but this is even tough to get over to invert. I first tried a back flip to invert and amlmost lost it but got it over and back (whew lol) -- then a front flip which was a tad easier but again the motor dies down and the fun begins lol. I may try to lower the pitch some more and try it again -- next Tuesday :0( I dont have a whole lot in it @ -,+ 11 and the stock motor just doesnt have it. She sure is small tho -- gets outta site quickly lol. Sport flying is a dream and flies incredible there.

Thanks Markus, Sounds like the 3 axis is keeping this bird from flipping.Fusion 50 Align set up, Gaui X5 Scorpion, RJX servos

All motor IFLY please dont add things I didnt mention It gets misleading to others -- I did mention the motor just doesnt have it to pull it over -- not the controls wouldnt let it -- it did go over, ---- however by the time the headspeed recovered the fun began trying to recover. When you give it that extra little pop of collective to go over -- well there aint no more lol. Again I am going ot knock the pitch down considerably and see what happens :0)

Thanks,
Markus

DIZZY: Yes, I was adding things you didnt mention. I was relaying information Ive read and been told from Walkera distributors about the V120D02 having 3d problems because of the 3 axis gyro limiting its motions. Now I know it also has motor issues. Thank you.

I will be careful in the future when I post comments on RR.

I should have said: "From what Ive read and been told on the phone by dealers, is that it sounds like its the 3 axis gyro..."

Ill grab a 4g6...IF I buy a Walkera at all.

The earliest batch of V120D02s had too much gain in the gyros which was not allowing enough control authority to flip and roll. Control firmware has been revised to eliminate this problem.

Only problem is, there is no way visually to tell which version you have. I would think anything currently for sale from a Walkera dealer will have the most current firmware.

My '02 can be dialed anywhere from pretty darn stable for a CP micro, to "hold on she's going for a ride" scary quick, and unstable. Shouldnt' be too difficult to discern the firmware installed after a few adjustment flights.

BTW, LOVE the shaft driven tail!

Bought a custom frame, and a stronger brushless motor for mine. Should be some fun.

No harm meant IFLY and these threads are great -- I just didnt want anyone thinking I said that as mine has no control issues --- only motor issues lol and I kinda knew that already by owning a 4g6 and upgradeing to a HP-08. I bought mine from Rick @ ClubHeli -(great guy and store) and waited for some time to get them in -- I was informed these are the latest firmware rx's. Again I have absolutely no isses with the gyro and control inputs -- she just didnt have it to "power" through

Your Heli has alot of power Dkfuji. I would be nice for this Heli to have that power from the factory. I have a blast flying it. Pretty darn durable to.

Jay you have one?

Yep, I have both the '01 and the '02. I have an outrunner motor, and Extreme frame on my '02. The outrunner and a 25C, 650 mAh battery make a whole bunch more power than the stock power system. Just wish I had the flying skill you've got .

The frame kit is CNC, and CF, so servos stay put better, and it's got thrust bearings on the main shaft. Runs a little smoother than it did with the stock frame.

I think she's got the oats to do tic-tocs, and maybe a piro flip if I had the talent.
