I can assure you that this is not correct, except for maybe a very small percentage of simple minded people, the large majority, including myself can differentiate between political discussion and what they think of people themselves.
I agree. My brother is the world traveler in the family due to work and has no issues related to where he is from. Russia, China, Germany, Japan, England, Brazil, Turkey, etc. no problems. Our media seems to promote that view that everyone hates us but I suspect it is because our journalists are idiots. So when they have problems abroad they assume everyone has problems instead of blaming themselves.

It was claimed that these leaks would expose American hypocrisy and underhanded behavior. You blindly repeat that claim. But what is the reality?
The leaks have exposed numerous american cover-ups in afghanistan and Iraq, mostly related to civilian deaths and death tolls. They also exposed the turning of a blind eye to detainee abuses, diplomats asked to spy on other diplomats, guantanamo bay abuses, VERY LOOSE rules of engagement, random killing of civilians in afghanistan, and let's not forget the collateral murder incident and cover-up.

The leaks havent exposed jack sh@t, all theyve exposed is that people in government actually talk exactly the same as all the rest of us do, useing expletives to describe serious situations.

Theres no damning aligations of corruption in any of these leaks, if anything I think its backfired in Mr Assanges snobby little face, all this effort to try and prove how corrupt the American government is and nothing of any substance.

Hes not even in the news anymore, knowbody realy cares anymore, he made the headlines for a week, Im sure he was hopeing for much more fame and celebrity but he is yesterdays news, just a publicity stunt by a little pufter who sees himself as more than he realy is, suffering from delusions of grandeur.

I'm sorry, I didn't realize government sponsored murder and torture, and the lying about it to the public, does not amount to corruption. Maybe you're right, maybe this is what the american people want their government to be doing.

I can only speak for our guys in Afganistan, but the troops on the ground Ive seen are pleading to let them stay and finish the job they started, they want to leave that place better than what it was before they got there, and they will tell you they see improvement every day and there is light at the end of the tunnel.

If there dragged away now before the jobs done all there hardwork and the lifes lost will amount to nothing, the Taliban will once more rule with sharia law and the place will once more turn to sh@t.

Imagine what a kick in the guts that would be when youve worked so hard only to get dragged away just when the end of the job is in sight.
government sponsored murder
Thats what war is, I have no problem at all with these bearded Taliban burkan heads being murdered, theyve been murdering women and children for years, now they get whats comeing to em.

Assange is all over the news. He has threatened the world's governments with releasing an encryption key for thousands of documents already distrubuted to hundreds of people, if he is emprisoned or killed. These documents are not censored, and could embarass a lot of powerful people, and could result in a lot of innocent lives being lost. This guy has balls, and he is serious about not being overrun by anybody. Will our scumbag government allow this to happen to us, damn right they will. We are disposables in their effort to keep the secrets out of our hands.
A bunch of Assange's supporters have organized web attacks against entiities putting the financial clamp on Assange. They have also provided hundreds of mirror sites to host wikipedia, ensuring no single government can take the information away from us.
Go Assange, freedom fighter of the 21'st century. Wikileaks gets all my political contributions.

You just give the cliffs notes of Assange's rhetoric. He tends to characterize these things as negatively as possible. You take it at face value because it favors your bias. But then we see the actual docs, videos, etc. and it never really pans out as advertised. Yet it seems the advertisement gets repeated and not the reality. It's somewhat Michael Moorish approach to news. Although Wikileaks did show Moore to be a complete hack but, as with most of the 'leaks', we already knew that. The leaks also revealed that the Lancet paper, which claimed the liberation of Iraq cost 655,000 Iraqi lives, was exaggerated by over 600 per cent. A little different reality than promised by Assange. So Wikileaks debunk Lancet and the media still run with Assange's claim of what is in the documents rather than what is actually in the documents.

Julian Assange fanboy.

Freedom fighter the only thing he is interested in is his own publicity, do some research and you will see he has some crazy ideas, he is whats commonly refered to as a meglomaniac.

I'm definitely a fan boy of anyone who fights for freedom. Unfortunately, many americans have lost this concept alltogether. Maybe the rest of the world can guide us back to the principles of freedom. Freedom of info and press is a big deal, and it doesn't exist in the US any more. Kinda sad that america has lost it's way from the vision of the founding fathers.

Dude,it's the points of view from the outside that interest me the most. Just because you don't live there, doesn't mean you haven't been exposed to it. Your comments are welcome, at least by me.
I can understand your reluctance, some are not too receptive to any criticism that doesn't come from within the clan.

What I said was it seems to me that there isent an unbiased media in America, its either extreme left wing propoganda or its extreme right wing propoganda, nothing inbetween.

Where I am the media seems to treat both sides with an equal amount of contempt.

There's no market for news in the US, that's not what people want. We want dirty laundry.
But gov't corruption is real juicy dirty laundry, yet they all shy away.
