What happens when I hit the switch during forward inverted? Does it right itself or will it level inverted?
Raja tested it on my streched 720 Razor.
If inverted it levels inverted and starts climbing (with neg pitch).
When you hit the panic switch it levels out and starts climbing. If inverted it levels inverted and starts climbing (with neg pitch).
I used a momentary switch that is right under a left hand finger.
.
helping to bail me out and save some $$ from the heli-gods... will this end my journey
In my opinion, yes...
.
All my crashes have been orientation loss, this will pay for itself very quickly and help me become a confident flier without being in the way of learning.
.
EDIT:
By the way, I'm still flying with a flybar with this HC and it works great. Next step is to convert to flybarless.
I think about the hereafter. I go somewhere to get something, then wonder what I'm here after ?

Hello Mr GyroFreak,

Did I read right that you are using the H3C-SX still with your flybar?

I have one coming and i was hoping that I could do the same till I become a better pilot. Are you still using a seperate gyro or the built in one from the H3C unit?
If you are using the internal gyro how well does it work??

Sorry for all the questions just very curios.

Yes, still with the flybar and it works great. I didn't set it up so I'm not sure what the exact setup is but I can let you know later.
I am using the internal gyro and it is rock solid tail hold.
I am also using the two JR satellite receivers that plug directly into the HC3SX controller so the wiring is much simpler than before as no receiver to HCX wiring is required. That's for the JR 2.4 Ghz system but it also works with simplified wiring for some types of Futaba systems.
I think about the hereafter. I go somewhere to get something, then wonder what I'm here after ?

Who actually has these in stock? Esprit is out of them, Chopper shots does not answer their phone and Helidirect wants $590 for one. Anyone else have one in stock in the usa?

I'm going to run mine with a flybar for now also.

Not ready to loose my long rod and 2 shiny paddles.

Hi GyroFreak, did you experimented with more extreme maneuvers.. like say tumbles and the unit still manage to recover?

It recovers very quickly from extreme tilts in any direction. I am not skilled enough to attempt any tumbles so I can't comment on that sort of recovery. A fellow flier tested it in various positions while inverted and it always quickly went to level inverted with a climb-out while inverted. It appears that it is a perfect recovery tool for me while improving my limited flying skills.
If it is tilted and the closest recovery is upright then that's what it levels to, if closest is inverted then it levels inverted with climb-out while inverted.
If you don't hit the recovery switch then flying is normal with no interference from the HC. That is what I really like about it, normal flying unless you get into trouble, press the momentary switch and it levels and climbs until you get you senses back.

I have just a few flights on this thing and its looking pretty sweet.
First flights were with flybar and today had a couple test flights without flybar.Still needs a few tweaks but the presets are a very good start The directions are a bit confusing In the software there are mouse-over explanations that really help.

This is from the Esprit model site. https://www.espritmodel.com/index.a...OD&ProdID=13791
Moreover, the system is equipped with several safety features, levelling the heli back even while in hard 3D-manoeuvres like Tic-Toc or PiroFlip with a speed never seen before. These brand new features enable a pilot to learn 3D flying in the most safe way ever, speaking of a kind of "real-flight simulator" on highest level. The stabilization sensitivity (gain) as well as engaging or disengaging this function can be controlled via an auxiliary channel from the transmitter while in flight.
.
Hope this helps.

It will recover from some very screwed up positions...I literally wiggled the sticks to get the heli in some random orientations and hit the switch and the heli did level. Was really cool.

Think there is still an answer missing:
What happens when I hit the switch during forward inverted? Does it right itself or will it level inverted?
Keep in mind that there are more than one option for levelling you can select with the HC3-SX. Most people talk about the "rescue" mode, levelling and adding collective to climb. In this option the heli is leveled to the nearest horizontal attitude.
But there is also the "go to pos" option, which does not add any collective, but always levels the heli to normal, even if you are in full inverted flight.

Take a look at the sotware's Horizon tab and you will find little help buttons below the 5 options, explaining what they do.

Cheers,

It really works man there should be vids of it working from the Orlando FF. As they say, you got to pay to play. If this thing prevents one crash it already paid for its self

I totally agree! It pays for it's self. The less fortunate that have to wait to get one because there are none in stock anywhere would still like yo see it in action...LOL
