I got some time on my Predator SE this week with a new muffler. Thought I would share this with you folks who have a YS .61 ST2 that are looking for more power.
I had read here on RR last summer from a couple of guys that tried the larger volume Hatori mufflers on their ST2's. Well, I don't recall what they were using but I browsed around on Century's site and found the CNH972 muffler. It's says on the box that it's for the YS 91 and OS 91. It's an older style single baffle 2-piece that was from the era last year when the new YS 80 and OS 91 were catching on. Well, those mufflers have been replaced with the MP2s and SB-16s of today. So, that leaves some of these as great alternatives to the 60 class.
What I have been running with this muffler is the Magnum Heli Plus(30%) +/-10 degrees with a 1750 headspeed. The motor pulls right thru like some of the heavier 60 ships running 90 class motors. Now granted my Predator SE weighs 9lbs 6ozs but no matter what heli you got I HIGHLY recommed this muffler. I prefer the 2-piece on the Predator because the engine is rear facing and the muffler hangs out the rear. If you hit the ground while upright hard you stand a better chance of not damaging the motor instead of a standard one-piece design.
Anyhow, thought I would share........
