the real BK is the one flying with the city in the background. My model is flying with trees behind it facing to the left. Mine is not Tim Schoonards model, but many thanks for asking. I don't know if Tim would be displeased at reading that as mine is not a patch on his.
I have put some pictures in my gallery of the setup of the BK117, using a Futaba ZHP WCII transmitter. The standard assignments for the controls are :- 1- aileron, 2 -Elevator, 3-throttle, 4-rudder, 5-gyro, 6-collective pitch. If you have a Futaba radio capable of this setup then use swashplate type S-4, even though you only use three servos at 90 degrees. In the pictures the three servos are plugged into- left servo, channel 1, center servo-channel 2, right servo-channel 6. In the radio swashplate menu I have type S-4, +50% ail rate, (-) minus 50% ele rate and +50% pit rate. I have the rotation mode active to minus 6%. The standard ATV's are at 100%. In order to track the blades I have each ball link on the swashplate marked with a different colour, each pushrod marked with the matching colour and each blade marked with the matching colour. To track blades, put a black dot or stripe at the end of the first blade, then a stripe 1/2 inch in from the end on the second blade, then a stripe 1 inch in from the end on the third blade and, yes, you guessed, 1& 1/2 in from the end on the fourth. This is easier than trying to use a different colour at the same point as they all blend into 1. If you go to my gallery again you can see the pictures, or if you PM your e-mail I will zip them and send them off. I found the setup and spare parts list so I can scan and send those too if you like.
