On paper, both have pretty similar average power.
Not true. You did not calculate how much usable energy (on shaft) has one tank of fuel. You should do that first, until then it will be just assumptions.

AT IRCHA: Pretty much everyone to whom I talked at IRCHA this year, were impressed more by electric heli demos.

P.S. I am not nitro hater. I do not really care what people are flying, as long as they have fun. I just want to see real facts...

And, if that Tareq setup was 2 x 6S2650, here's what that looked like.

Not too shabby for a 425mm bladed setup.
That's a Fusion 50 with 600mm blades.

Very light 50size setup BTW. 12s 3300-3800 is more common setup for 50size.

OOPS. Thanks for pointing that out. Wrong heli....I guess we should disregard those numbers. I should have figured 2 6s2650's were a bit much for a Protos.

If I remember right, the packs are bigger than 2650mAh in his Fusion 50 .

Also, please know that I am trying to work with facts and be as transparent as reasonable without giving so much detail that Mckrackin's head explodes and splatters brains on his keyboard....or to have Chuck fall asleep in his popcorn.

I am gathering information on nitro actual output so yes, assumptions so far. But, so far, I have looked at fuel consumption versus output and it sure sounds like that T700N earlier in this thread has its motor screaming at full tilt. And these two measures correlate well enough. But given that flight seems (note seems means my opinion) so much more agressive than any e-flight over 6 minutes that I cannot see anybody comming to any other conclusion. But, I will have more consise data soon enough. Until then...some assumptions.

And BTW, I am impressed with electric as well. I can just understand what others see in nitro...that's all.

Electric demos stole the show two years in a row at Ircha and number of electrics increases each year. If you deny it then go reality of what's happening will become brutally obvious. Nuff said.

I still don't see answers about Tareqs specifics in his demo therefore killed packs is pure assumption/ speculation. Wow shirt still in box waiting for actual facts from Lon and gang.

I'll add if tareq is flying Outrages recommended setup to bad for their sales. My Logo 600s show more then that and add a minute and half. But unlike others I won't assume I'll wait for facts..

In order to obtain some facts I've emailed flying personal friend of Tareqs. Since Lon and Bob and some are feeding off it let's hear actual facts. It will be to them to post then it will be clear at least if fusion is that in efficient or if it was simply jacked setup for demo and small pack etc. And at least we'll know if Lon is right about Tareq killing packs to. Stay tuned...Once upon a time there were Nitros, flybars and frequency pins...

I don't know what the big debate is even about.

I have had electrics and nitros.
I'm new to nitro but not new to helis.

It is "in your face" obvious that electrics power to weight is waaaay more than nitro. My OS50's run just a little bit stronger than a 600 on 6S.Not much.About the same as a 600 on 6S runs in it's first 30 seconds.

It is also obvious that the nitro is in the air waaaay longer per flight than an electric which is no big deal.I never cared changing a battery every now and then and usually I get 2 or more flights out of a single tank of nitro.

The support equipment cost is almost identical.

The daily expense of nitro sux.
Buying 4-5 lipos all at once sux but it sux a lot less a year later when you're still buying fuel daily and batteries last for years.

It comes down to preference and I prefer nitro for the noise, smell and presence.

There's really no more info out there than in this post that is even relevant to everyone.

That's stupid.No offense.
I talk via email to Tareq all the time.

That Fusion is not his.
It wasn't set up prior to the flight.
He was just playing around with his friends. His words.I asked.

If it's stupid and you talk to him then you post all the facts that would be your "smart" response. Getting facts is not stupid it's "justified" when you have people running wild based on assumptions. So reply with a smart "facts" report and then no one is "stupid".
Stupid is calling someone stupid without anything to back it up. If it was not his heli lets hear some facts on "his" fusion then I mean since you and him are so close shouldn't be an issue to clear up the matter correct?

I'll be anxious for facts and smart responses that don't sound stupid and have merit behind them. My emailing someone has to do with the naysayers not making effort to retrieve facts didnt realize that effort was stupid.

I had 7min flight time on my 50size nitros.
I have 5min flight time on my 600 with 4035 motor.

My headspeed by 200rmp higher on 600 (2250 vs 2050)
By decreasing headspeed I win more than a minute of flight time. If I put 4025 motor instead of 4035 I will get another minute, and still will have more power than with my old nitros.

Electric guys are not limited as nitro guys in power, in most of the cases they go for power (because it is more fun) not for the flight time. This is the only reason why you do not see many long flights on electric helis.

I just can't stand it when someone says "I asked a close personal friend of his"...Ask the person. Not the friend.

I'll add that Tareq and I aren't "close personal friends" but he is definitely one of the go to guys I ask about new stuff.

If someone wanted to know something about me or something I was doing,I would expect them to ask me and not some alleged friend of mine.

I meant nothing personal by my comment by the way.Only the idea.

I don't know him or his setup and could care less so go attack someone else. You come on here making all these claims but have yet to prove anything, all you do is talk.Theres not one post from you with any kind of "facts" at all and its all assumptions and speculation because all you do is type.Anyone can pull a video off youtube and say "thats a 1400rpm headspeed" or whatever.Wheres all your proof, did anyone see a tach in any of the videos you and others posted, did anyone see the setup in any of them helis?NO .The only thing anyone seen was you talking and a video of "someone else" flying, not even you.If someone is going through packs more than you,you jump right on the attack wagon making every excuse you can saying its their setup or flying when you have no ideal. If you don't like someones opinion when they know their right, you attack them and when they reply, there pinked or banned. You and others like electric alot and others and I like nitros alot, get over it and grow up.No reason to keep attacking people.

I don't care about the heli either mcrackin but I care about facts! So be the better man and get the facts instead of being rude how's that? His friend gorgin who flies with him all the time is who I messaged I think he would be reliable? Since Nay sayers were running wild with assumptions please explain to me how wanting facts is "stupid" I'd love to know your answer to that chief. Since being on other side of world like you email or pm is only resource so saying how I would obtain facts is stupid makes you ignorant, period....Once upon a time there were Nitros, flybars and frequency pins...
