I would say that car is quick, but its not! lol I had an electric Rustler with a brushless motor that I used lipos in. I hit 70mph with that sucker! When u don't feel like soaring through the air with a plane, beat it into submission w/ a heli!

OK, I still have a bit of reading to do still but I just have to say...sorry, I see no convincing evidence at all in any of those videos that would suggest that the nitro isn't more energy being displayed. A video of the Nitro started with less than 1/2 tank, he flew the snot out of it, and it was still fairly long compared to an e-flight of similar caliber.

And, the high/low RPM challenge is a new and interesting one for me. I'll have to consider that a bit. But, so far anyway, I would not be driven to do such a thing anyway. More important with electrics to get the flight time.

Sorry but...I'm even further from convinced.

Ah heck, what's the big deal anyway? Who cares if one likes things differently than another? Why would that be such a big deal?

There will never be a way to convince someone who is unwilling or does not have an open mind. It seems that most have their minds made up either way so we will just have to see where the hobby leads itself in two years My guess it electric and FBL Team MikadoUSA 480XXTreme, 550SX, 600SX, 700XXTreme, 800XXTreme!!

I had a HPI MT2 with the 2 speed trans and a OS21 in it that would kill your traxxas rusty.I had to buy 4 tires every 3-4 runs because it ripped the tires right off the rims.I could floor it at 50mph or so and baloon the tires untill the flew off the rims, thats with a 1/4 tube of CA on each rim/tire..
BTW,
That truck wasn't even tuned good and I had a short gear ratio in it then to kill every electric at out local track and it did.Fast forward to 4:45 and watch what happens when I tune the motor good and it had ALOT more in it .Notice the 8min run time .

Bob, the videos were very obvious, it is odd you can not CLEARLY see the difference in power and energy displayed? The camerman could barely keep up to Kyle in fact lost the heli in view several times, in comparison even with Lukas on sticks the Velocity was in slo mo.

If Pros are running half tanks, or for arguements sake less then full, why is this? To lose weight to get max performance out of their nitros, or is it beacause even they being pros realize that they can't fill past 5 minutes of different maneuvers and keep peoples attention? Hmmm interesting thought is it not..

See routines and judges at comps are set to around 4-5 minutes, this was done far before the great advances of electrics, to keep it different and for having the demonstration entertaining and accurate. Now you as a beginner or hey just someone wanting to learn and have more flight time, just de tune that electric and get same or more then Nitro, again done deal.

RC Cars, whoa! Lets go there, wonder why they have completely seperate divisions now? Well I know, cause the nitro cars could not even compete not even close, period! They have seen the light and had to adapt in order to save the tears and rants of the gas runners

Just goto some RC truggy and race car forums, the guys who are running nitro cars are doing it cause they like the sound and smoke and tuning, which is exactly where nitro heli guys will admidt soon. Unlike nitro heli guys, the nitro car guys admidt they do it for their liking of tuning and nostalgia

Still waiting for a nitro video demonstrating 1400 rpm with good low tourque power and authority and 1800+ in one video with one setup, still waiting.....

^^^^ Now THAT'S Funny! ^^^^ You "Nitiro" guys don't got to "fallin' off the Earth now!"

Of course, the converse of that is, us "lectric" guys will just end back up in the same spot! (i.e. cuz the Earth is round)

Lon I never claimed a 8 minute hard 3D electric video, let me be clear myself that does not exist, we have covered that. I claim and it is fact that anyone that is an electric pilot that has suited themself with decent charging equipment and a few lipos can fly as much "total" flight time in day as Nitro, this is in fact, "FACT". Less individual flight time that makes no difference to me or anyone who appreciates electric, as "we electric" peeps can fly all day to .

RC Planes, Helis, Cars, Boats, no matter electric is dominating and only the Heli guys left to admidt it.

Lon, gassers look good?, don't be jealous your Nitros can't fly in multiple modes of HS and ability without power and are limited to almost balls out smoke pouring, smelly & loud bog sessions.

Now that is clear and has been said about twenty times...

Anyone in the nitro fan seats prepared to find my video request?? Nitro vid showing good power and authority at low headspeeds around 1200-1400 and then back up to 3D HS of 1800+ in same video with same setup?

Crickets are chirping loudly!!!!

The video posted is one of the cool things about electric. You can gear it down and run such a low HS that you can fly very very smooth 3D for learning and still get extremely long flight times. This video isn't long, but this heli could have flown for at least 13 minutes at that HS doing the moves he is doing. So for you guys spitting out that you want flight time to learn with, but electric gives you short flight times, you can think of this video. You can learn and still have enough to do 3D moves.

Watch the whole video, and you'll be surprised at how much you can do at that HS.

Dang...I do LOVE a good debate.

I have to say, I enjoyed that full 8 minute nitro vid up there WAY more then say...the TDR one. So, tell me I should not have enjoyed that one more...nuf said there.

Regarding battery advancement, yes, they are increasing the flow rate (C rating). But even the experts in the field would admit that they are at the limit of chemical energy density for Lithium. So I'm not expecting more there. I spoke to someone in the field (non marketing type) a while back about this. Now it was a while back so I could be wrong and something changed. If so, feel free to correct me...but...with substance please.

Funny, you e-guys say you don't need long flights. Then you say they can do long flights and then show an e-guy with a quest for long flights that was the absolute most boring video I've seen. In fact, that one is the first I did not watch the whole video.

Sorry...try again.
