Rexxis math and then some owned truth is and has been clear for over 40 pages electric is now and the future you guys just gotta evolve is all and ride the right bus and not the short one!!

Nothing like hearing your blades and mechanics, sweet sounds. If I want to hear an annoying weed whacker I'll do some yard work. Wait!... I use electric whackers ahh those are sweet to but that's another debate!

So Nitro=Short bus, and Electric=right bus?

Ok, I'll go with that.

I went out with a buddy yesterday thats a sponsored pilot and a hell of alot better than I am.He brought his Trex 700N and Trex 550.2 flights on his 700N was more flight time than my electric the whole 2 1/2 hrs we were out and more than his electric, thats sad .Also,I forgot my charger but was able to use his.If I was on my own,I would have to pack up and go back home.Man I can't wait to get my nitro going.Im not a girl that needs a manicure if my hands get dirty so the oil doesn't bother me .I bet some of you guys rather have your wife or girl friend change the oil on your cars ,j/k ..600LE,OS55,OS PowerBoost pipe,Align 610's,Spartan

So Nitro=Short bus, and Electric=right bus?
The right bus is the one with LONGER flight time so that makes electric the short bus and in more than one way .

So is it an accurate assessment that...

The right bus goes to the school of thought that Electric is overall better and...

That the short bus goes to the school of thought that nitro is somehow better?

When you ho to school with a nitro, you learn more thanks to the longer flights.
When you go to school with a electric, you don't learn as much with the short flight time .
How can you learn faster with shorter flight times, you can't ..
If you flown a nitro heli, you would know that .

Same flight time in day for me . And in fact I've flown more total flight time "in air" than any nitro peeps at funflies.

Girls changing oil in cars? Sounds cool better yet if their in bikinis while performing maintenance

So your saying you fly some REALLY good 3D with your Logo for 7 mins stright?
BTW,
Is that with a low head speed because if it is,I know for a fact I get 9-10 mins of airtime with my nitro (low head speed) and already posted videos of it

I will give you this one, Blades, on the noise. The sound of nitro going all the time can get tiring I must admit. Not when you are flying so much as when you're kicking back with your friends in between. A small "quiet" generator is better in this respect.
Oh, I thought it important to note...
I was referring to times when the GIRLS join us. They don't seem to like the sound of the nitros.

Man...can I be a jerk or what.

Total flight time in day Lon. Again still stuck on the individual flight times I see it don't matter. Again have you guys watched latest lukas 90 velocity vids vs kyles 50 electric vids? No obviously not hack up a 90 as best as can with demanding pilot tanks drained in 5mins!! And to add fire the 50 electric blows the power and authourity eats that velocity for lunch!...Once upon a time there were Nitros, flybars and frequency pins...

OICU812,
Look at the fuel tank at the start and look at it at the end

Watch at YouTube

Im sure with a full tank, thats a 8min flight. The Pros don't fly with a 100% full tank of fuel and if they do,they land way before its empty.
I do laugh with you guys start talking about the power of electrics and I know they make more power but guess what, not you or any other electric pilot can out fly the power of ANY of the newer nitro motors and most of the older ones.If you wanna look cool and bang the stick around on a electric just to show the power then more power to ya but I rather have the flight time because you learn faster, well I know I do.Im still thinking about getting another 50 size electric but i'll never give nitro up for the short flight times.

OK, busting on each other has been fun but Chuck must be out of popcorn by now. Let's get back to the subject here. I basically came in here probably more of an electric fan than a nitro one. But then...thanks to being called out by Aaron (No issue admitting it at all ), I think I'm being swayed more and more to Nitro. Now, I'm smart enough to know that my likes and circumstances are not the same as others...and of course there's nothing for me to gain one way or the other...so to each their own. But, here is what is making ME more and more interested in revisiting Nitro.

Smoke...most people think it's cool. Just to show honesty, I can see that getting old for some, but not me. I think the smoke RULES! Mosquito repellant??? Interesting thought.

Sound....COOL! Same as above. Just love the sound of nitro.

Smell...all as above.

Taste...not all bad but not recommended.

Cleaning...I never clean my helis. I'm a pig.

Charging versus fueling. I personally feel I spend way more time (and space) maintaining batteries than fueling.

Cost....depends on usage. E is cheaper if you fly a lot. But if you plan to fly a lot and something comes up like illness or job or something, you throw a lot away.

Readiness...the Nitro is always ready. My e-helis are usually at about 50%. If I suddenly decide I want to go out for a quick flight after work, the nitro is quickest and easiest.

Peak power...Electric seems to rule...at the expense of flight time.

Flight time...Nitro rules...at the expense of peak power.

Total energy...this is a tough one as it is a combination of the 2 above. I see more energy (entertainment value) in the Nitros. Difficult to judge and subject to opinion. But, I have certainly not seen convincing evidence that an e-heli doesn't have less.

Then there's the "other" part of the hobby. The one that makes it a hobby instead of just a sport. Building, creating, changing, tweeking, perfecting, advancing... I beleive the best will never come out of the box.
This is my favorite part and there is plenty of opportunity still in the e-world, but right now, I see an unanswered challenge. Why are there no Nitros that can burn through a tank in 3 minutes flat like an electric can? Surely someone has tried this??? Is it because it is hard to do...or is it because there has been no desire to? That's a serious question I ask. What exactly is so challenging about getting a nitro to produce the power of an electric?

Pretty much common sense. Don't need to fly a nitro to know that longer flight time gives more time to learn. Besides I learn on the sim and then transfer skills to my actual heli anyway.
