I am assuming that most manufacturer's are bulking up the heads and tail drives now on the new releases to handle the increased rpms that the current 3D guys are demanding?
They would have to but it can't go on forever, bulking parts up, bigger capacity packs, bigger motors and ESC's = extra weight!

The helis will NEED a high head speed to be able to haul it all around!

There will be a limit and to be honest I think we have already reached it.

I would much rather have a lighter under powered heli than a brick with extra power.

60% of the time, it works every time!

Sped up just a tad.

Watch at YouTube

That first video is sped up a tad, the second one with Bert is real.

The man that posts tareqs videos said so.

Watch how tareq walks out, NOT natural.

Never the less, the newer 700 class with high head speeds is kicking @SS!!!!

Cheers,
Raven

I put together a 30 Raven se for now it has a os37 in it
I was wondering if I should use a Hyper 50 or get a 55?
Now that would be cool. I really do like that new 550 sized Trex. I big block nitro .30 would be a good blend of cost per flight/performance.

I think the poor frame rate of Tereqs vid contributes more to it looking weird than it being sped up. People claimed the same thing about Kyle Dahls 450 at 4000 till he put that argument to rest by playing a song and using a real time stop watch while he flew the same routine with it in a follow up vid.

cost per flight/air time
I did try a tt53 in a 30 last year and the fuel consumption was only a little less than with a 37.

reason for the SE set-up is so I can switch to FBL once I get new servos.

I believe it'll will be rocking

Post some vids too so we can argue about something different size wise.

What is the fuel tank size and how many flights per gallon do you expect?

Q: Can the stock Mod 1 slant main gear handle 2400 headspeed from a monster motor? They seem pretty tough. The same gear in my 600 Pro on 12S handles the load just fine. Note: I won't be doing any hard 3D with this 700. I'm going to try and break 130 mph and enter the speed trap at IRCHA next year!

I'm using a Scorp HK 4525-650 motor with a 11T pinion,,,,,CC ICE 160 HV

Anyone figure I should upgrade anything on the T-Rex 700 V1 to make this happen. I already have the KDE adjustable motor mount for it.

Helix/Bob,,,,,anyone put a radar gun on Damien yet?

was side tracked for past two weeks, damn job keeps getting in the way!

Ahh Damien...

No real speed data as of yet, we have found the last weakness on the airframe / drive train, and we believe we have provided the solution

Damien will be going for next round of abuse...TESTING, rather, this weekend.

I do hope to shoot some video, and if it will allow, then I hope to have video I can share

what's next on the abuse agenda?

well, lets just say we hope to have the final iteration together before winter, then Damien can hibernate, and hopefully emerge a force to be reckoned with this spring 2012...

keep your fingers crossed

Ohh, do I sound like I'm on a mission, do I have the glimmer in my eye?

He' gonna be flown hard, and hit the ground harder, that is only IF an unscheduled altitude event should occur

I got 2 choices for a tank
the 30 size tank 325ml or a 50 size tank 425ml
IF 4400ml = 1 gallon
4400/325 gives me 13.5 flights per gallon
with a 37 at 9 min per flight thats almost 122 min of flying
I might use the 425ml tank for the 55 to keep my per/flight time the same.in which case I would get 10.3 flights per gallon or 90 min per gallon I'll have to wait until I get a 55 to re-calculate those times
before I put in a 55 I want to make it FBL to get a real comparison
hopefully I will be ordering servos end of next week.

Don't kid about a dirt nap. But if you are going to take it to the edge save it for Sunday.

Normally I would not say something as jinxing as that...but it hasn't been working lately.
So, I'm just playing a little reverse psychology with the heli gods.

I got 2 choices for a tank
the 30 size tank 325ml or a 50 size tank 425ml
The .30 Hawk size tank is less then 300ml (295ml)to be exact its 10oz

The.50 Raven fuel tank is 500ml

Where did you get these measurements?????

I have not had my old raven since 2009 but as I remember the huge tank compared to other .50 size kits. Your numbers are wrong.

Try filling, then drain into a measuring cup I think you will be surprised

something funny with info on those links

leisure tec site says hawk tank is 8 oz or 236.58 ml
the century says 500cc or 500 ml

I dunno where they got there #s I can see the 500cc filled to the top
but the hawk tank has to be a miss print

NVM they changed tank size in 1998 to 10 from 8 for the hawk though wrong
