Rex,
Seriously...something is very, very, very wrong. Plenty of examples of 50's being spanked for 8+ minutes.
I have NEVER, EVER seen an elictric fly over 7 minutes of anything I wouldn't consider tame. Not one. I fly my Logo for 7+ minutes all the time...but it has to be a very, very, very tame flight. If I get itchy and fly it harder just for a little bit, I wind up overdischarging my pack.

The electrics don't really shine until 2300RPM+ on a 600 as far as I'm concerned. A 600 just comes alive above 2300. I know it doesn't seem like much but 2100-2200 just doesn't get them going for me. Thus, until I got my Nitro to 2400, I considered only e's had the power thrill.

How about this.

Ill be at IRCHA.

Ill have my Joker 3DD 90 sized E heli with me...its a beast that gets great flight times.

Ill challenge Bob and Lon to a race. I bet I can consistently(ill do 10 speed runs on the same pack) beat anything you guys own and from there put on at least a 5.5min demo(on the same pack).

I 100% guarantee you Ill smoke anything you boys bring unless either of you come up with and electric of pry that YS120 out of Tim

I am not kidding guys this thread is too long and I read too many ignorant posts...its time to put your money where your keyboard is.

Live demo time!

IRCHA baby.

Now,for the record...what stunt or trick can an electric heli do that a nitro heli can't?
Not one thing. Electric can hold heavy loads longer without bogging thus helis can be thrown farther without bogging such as the opening move of my vid #2 (the flipping rainbow, I may have done the piro rainbow...heck I can't remember) back on p. 243
You have to pick just one and fight tooth and nail...till death. Even if you like both.

Right Roq?
Yeah that does add to the fun...

Hey...question for Gator....

Does your Jokers tail and main rotors run off the same pack?
I always thought that was a cool heli.

It uses a 12s 3800ish pack for the main motor/esc.

It uses a 6s 2200 pack for the tail motor/esc. The tail pack also powers the BEC for the electronics. I have about 1 Ah head room after an 8 min flight(6 mins of actually doing stuff). Oh and to make it clear this heli isn't like the MCPX it uses a tail servo just like a regular heli...the power sources are seperate for better control in various flight situations found for AP.

The cool thing about this heli is I have pretty much limitless head room for the main motor since it only powers the main rotor I'm going to try 720mm blades on it next and see how fast this thing can go.

Where's the "REAL" reproducible "SCIENTIFIC" data to support any of the arguments presented here?

Hold that thought, gotta go make some more popcorn

I'm back, maybe someone could get some "REAL" measuring equipment and do "PROPER" testing at IRCHA to determine which is better! Probably not though. Would not be able to attach all the equipment to the heli's and still fly (although a nitro would be able to carry the load longer).

These arguments are based on opinions and observation of one's own heli and not compared to any other heli setup in such a way to increase the performance of said heli.

Anyone can keep adding to or modifying their heli to make it better and faster. It just depends on the amount of time and money they want to invest in it. There will always be someone claiming they have the fastest and most powerful heli until someone else comes along with an even more faster and powerful one. Talk about beating a dead horse!

Agreed but I do know my Joker will absolutely smoke the 90 powered 600 bob and the 55 power 600 Lon has...and still be good for about 5.5mins for 3D.

I do know that my 90 gets crazy long flight times as is...very efficient. I have a video on YT that shows the heli in the air for 8 mins...6 of it actually throwing it around...nothing crazy but still more than enough to prove a point.

Here...

Thats about 550s of flight which is close to 9 mins. Youll see that I used 4ah for this flight time and I used a 4 ah pack. I had peaks of 4kW and I averaged 1kw for the flight on the main motor.

Eco, I won't be there. I'll be in Europe.

But, even if you did win, it would prove absolutely nothing. Even if there's a heli out there that's a smidgen faster, Nitro will always win the long haul. And, FYI, I'm pretty sure Lon isn't even claiming he'd beat anything in a speed race. I don't get the impression he ever suggested it.

Now, fly some hard 3d with me for 6 min while I get my weight down almost a pound and there's no stinking way you'd win that speed race.

AND, BTW, I don't have any figures on Tims 700, but I'm guessing my 600 has a higher displacement to weight ratio. Just saying.

Anyway, I'll say it again, I would choose an electric if challenged to a speed race. Just too easy. Way easy. No challenge in that.

So you being a pound light after 6 mins vs me being the same weight at 6 mins but having a discharged pack is the stakes.

Ill still take you up on that. I did 10 speed runs speed runs and 3d for 6 mins and a couple more speed runs after my timer went off...still pretty much as fast as it started. Bring it on

I haven't done any speed runs. Just never interested me I guess. So I'll take your word for it.

And no, it's not considered being the stakes...just what my heli gives every time. One of the more important measures is all.

Anyway, why don't you find Tim and race his 120? I imagine he'll be there. Would be good for you to know I imagine.

BTW, why is a 91 in a 600 enough? People keep upping the motor and bats and overall weight in electrics?

You know, I was just wondering something. Why are people always challenging me to some sort of race. And often stacking the bet to their benefit...even when I agree it's to their benefit???

I mean, I never say my heli is better than yours. I know how rude that can seem...I know how passionate people are about their helis. What would be the point of that anyway? N or e, the best one is the one you enjoy the most. All I'm doing is sharing what I'm enjoying, and why, in case anyone is interested.

I'd love to put some instrumentation on my machine and share that with you. Likely will some day. Perhaps even an altimeter or GPS.
I'd love to share a vid. I'm camera shy ;p...but I likely will some day.
I share that I've run a Nitro at 2500RPM and it didn't bog with 14 degrees and gave me 6 minutes. I'll share more in time.
I'll share that I have a 3.7kg 10S 4200 45C, 4035-630 Logo and my Trex 600N kills it in every measure I've tried...climb rate, HS maintained (I think...no recorder on the nitro yet), agility, duration, smoke generation and sound . They are both very powerful machines though...no doubt.

But, I never would suggest that it is in any way better than someone elses. That's for you to decide...not for me to decide for you.

Take Lon for example. It would be my guess that he would be much happier with what he has than with mine. There are specific reasons I say this. If I though otherwise, I might say, "hey Lon...buddy...you should consider getting one of these. You might like it. ". I would not say, "hey Lon, your heli is crud...mine is a lot better!". LOL

So you all know where I'm comming from.

And that is where you messed up...you say your logo is a dog compared to your logo....that is your setup...ie your fault. You logo should stomp your trex into the ground in ever category...even flight time...well except smoke gen and soundXera Motors

See? This is something I would never say. Sorry, but it is rather rude and presumptious.
But, My Logo is as good as I need it and as good as many many many out there. Could it be made better? Always. How better...to suit you or to suit me? For example, I know full well that I could set it up to be a better drag racer. Might suit you but not me.
I also know I could set it up for best power to weight....at the cost of flight time. That might suit you....but not me.

So, you can offer me a suggestion to how I might set it up. That is fine. Then I will decide if that would make sense to me. In the meantime, all I did was provide the specific setup I am comparing to.

And one more thing, you ever seen a 600N running 2500 RPM?
If not, then how do you know? If so, then it is funny this was not mentioned before.
