My weak as crap 600N with a tiny little OS50 engine only gets 6.5 minutes to the tank. I can't even say the 600N machine is capable of HARD 3D! A very disappointing model. Bob, would you go $50.01?
Clearly, something is wrong there. But sure, I'd go $50.01
As long as the electronics are decent, I'll take that heap off your hands. LOL
Something wrong for sure and im going with tuning skills .Lot's of good pilot's doing hard 3D with a OS 50 Hyper and getting more than 6 1/2 min's .Wouldn't say hard 3D but I can keep my OS 55 which is said to use more fuel than the 50 Hyper loaded for the most part and im able to get 8min's .

The law of diminishing returns seems to kick in there...
Yes, going that far beyond the power of my electric just didn't interest me.

Band, note I said MY electric. I didn't say yours...that would be rude.

Why do you care anyhow?

So, anybody know what that 120 weighs?

By the way, I noticed something interesting. Under full pitch high speed, my Logo always drops from about 2400 to 2300 RPM...maybe 2350 when the pack is fresh...but always drops.
I'm not certain, but I'd swear the Nitro was climbing in RPM. I need to get a flight recorder on it.

OK, my bad, your LG may be under powered...
but I'd swear the Nitro was climbing in RPM. I need to get a flight recorder on it.
And a vid, so you could turn it into "strangest events on earth"!

You definitely don't want that. The last guy who got the probe table treatment has never been seen again. Some other guy looks eerily similar in his vids but no way it's the same guy.

Not sure what gov (if any) you run, but a lot go to full throttle out when they see full throttle in, and if it doesn't call for 100% to maintain speed, you get it anyhow, which could explain what you see.

Ultimately, it means you can carry more pitch . . .

You've gotta watch those closet electric guys...

I still laugh at the "badazz Rapter" video that Clowny posted a couple of months back. Some guy flying some blinged out Rappy doing regular ole circuits around...I don't even think he even did a loop. I felt so bad for the nitro guys that I had to go find a vid of Matt Botos' night soccer field flight just to help them feel better about life after that one!!!

I'm using a Multigov...and thanks man, that's it. It has a variable called feed forward that adds collective to the servo out. I'll have to mess with that next time out.Team POP Secret

Nah, it's not tuning skills. Been in RC for many years and use to be very successful in various forms of pylon racing. You can't compete with a poorly tuned engine.

Your 600N was kind of weak in that last video in my opinion. I think it was the heat. Your tune sounded good. Like I said before, it was 96°F in the shade on Saturday here in Tallahassee. The heat index was around 110°. Our heat humidy and solar radiation in Florida make it very hard on normally aspirated engines to make good power during all but the winter months. Maybe this is why so many of us southern boys have gone electric.

Speaking of temperature, I was wondering where you plug in the core temperature in those efficiency calculations I've seen. I know operating temperature has an effect on eff. but I just haven't seen where that variable gets accounted for. Maybe it's just being assumed to be something. That's OK by me but I know how some hate to assume anything.

It might just explain Tim's video of a 4ish HP Nitro WHOOPING up on that electric. Boy, assumptions can sure be misused if that's what you make them for.

Stir stir.
