Lon's engine is lean.

Power looked good though, held up well through the aggressive stick spasms

Don't those e motors have 6mm shafts in them?
8mm in all mine. They neck down to 6mm for the pinion gear. The 5035 Scorpion has a 10mm shaft.

I cut my own grass while the CNC is running.

Hey Rog, just don't forget to hose yourself off before heading off to the field tomorrow.

I picked up 2 gallons of Nitro on the way home today (checked out a Trex 700 gasser at the LHS while I was there...pretty cool ) and have all Lipos at 100%. Gonna burn some Nitro and churn some electrons tomorrow.

So Bob 2 gallons ran ya what 60 bucks? You'll get at least what...12 flights on your .90 or 20 flights on your .50? For 40$ more you could have gotten 100 flights or more on your logo...

The smoke and noise is why I got rid of my glow powered helis...no wait, it was the mess...or was it the expensive and bulky cases of fuel, no...maybe it was the expensive 90 size engine setups...or no the general increased power of the E's...or.........and the list goes on and on and on and on...
But I know some people like all those things

You should have said, "the manliness of nitro is priceless."

It riles them up more.

And then you should have just left out the part about the smoke and noise. You'll just get them turning that into a whine about mess and sensitive ears and that'll just lead to all the effort it takes to change a glow plug.

You have to learn the sublties of how to get buy in this thread.

My 90 nitro has an 8mm shaft.
Just another little observation.
As was stated the Scorpion and new Hacker have 8mm shafts that are turned down to 6mm at the end for pinion compatability.

The way a nitro motor vibrates it should have a 10mm shaft instead of that weak 8mm shaft.

Nitro motors are built for 300 flight obsolescence, then you have to pour in the cash on a rebuild or replace it like some guys do ( although most will never admit it ).

Electric guys just swap out a couple of bearings and keep flying.

Only intelligent folks fly electric. Noobs are drawn like moths to the noise and smoke of nitro.

I gave up nitro because of the mess and I was frustrated by low flight times,,high fuel consumption and then rising prices of 30% fuel.
But my transition to gas was rather easy for me because I got no mess ,I have very nice flight times, fuel is cheap, for me there is enough power ,no charging anything except the TX which is rare. [on board generator]
I am a ok flyier and am sure no where near some of you guys. With my gasser I have the time to practice a move over and over again with lots of flight time at a pace I am comfortable with.

Setup is everything, All my heli's can fly far better than I can pilot them

Yeah real manly to HAVE to use collective management Why not drive a Yugo also....same power
Personally, I would rather have the quiet V12 than the loud and slow 4 banger

...and then you spend the rest of your valuable free time doing meticulous inspections and maintenance on that vibrating weed wacker, or else it will blow up in your face within 10 flights.

With electric it will still be flying exactly the same 100 flights later.

Ok that rules out more than 60% of the e-guys

I guess the e-guys have to use the sim to do the same

Flight Time is a concept not known to e-guys

Brutal Lol!

Inspections are less than you think. Once setup you grab it and go,,just make sure your TX is charged.
If you look at the vids I posted gassers aren't Yugo's anymore.
.and then you spend the rest of your valuable free time doing meticulous inspections and maintenance on that vibrating weed wacker, or else it will blow up in your face within 10 flights.
That was the case many years ago but not now with balanced blueprinted gas motors. There have been great improvements in this area.
My first gasser is almost 17 years old and still going strong with higher than stock power. She never vibrates loose bolts ,,they aren't
like old Harleys anymore.

Setup is everything, All my heli's can fly far better than I can pilot them

I get 10 minutes with my Logo, running 1900 and able to do any maneuver, just need some collective management But if I choose to turn the HS up, by flipping a switch on my radio... I can have a 5:30 minute flight of some hard sopping smack flying. I don't really think flight time is everything?

By the by, most of the 3D routines I have ever seen, run an average of about 4 minutes. And I think that has been the norm, long before E became viable?
