you'll be hard-pressed to find anyone that flies more than me.
Im out 7 day's a week unless it's raining and fly 8 to 12 time's a day.6 to 9 8:30 min flight on the nitro and 2 to 3 4:00 min flight's on the electric (only one pack right now ).Once the 2 new pack's get here this week, that give's me 4 to 6 more flight's so 12 to 16 flight's a day ..That will give me 75 to 112.5 min's of flight time per day ..

Oops, that's with both heli's in the air.Only flew the nitro 6 time's today because the electric is down .Don't have the Auto Rotation setup in my ICE 100.Getting the feel for blade stop's with the nitro so tried it 2 day's ago with the electric.150ft up,hit TH and let the headspeed run out. After 3-4 sec's of letting the headspeed run out I took it out of TH,soft start doesn't spool up that fast LOL.Did give it enough neg pitch to get some headspeed going but wasn't enough but enough to keep it from being a rekit.Only damage was broken struts and blade grip stand off broke in the grip .New struts are on it and blade grip's will show up with the lipo's .Live and learn..

Lon,,,did you just not set up the auto-rotation on the ICE? Or you unsure of how to set it up? I can walk you thru it in a heartbeat,,it's pretty easy!! And it works great.

Rogman88,
Nope

Elk,
Nope, didn't set it up and honestly didn't think about it haha.I'll set it up as soon as my part's get here but won't try it until I put a mod 1 main gear in it.I told a buddy at the club about what happend and he said I need to change the gear or it will strip as soon as I take it out of TH .

I just looked and couldn't find a 170T mod 1 main gear so im guessing they don't make a 170T?

No 170T mod 1, 115T mod 1 same diameter. But to make the switch you need a KDE modified hub that fits the 700 mod 1 main gear to the 600 heli. $22 or so, I think.

Lon,,,it's totally doable. I've used the auto-bailout on my 12S 600 numerous times,,,gears are fine so far. Just set the 'headspeed change rate' to about mid-field,,,I have mine set at 14 (scale 1 to 20). If you set the head speed change rate too high you'll start stripping gears. You'll want to tighten up the gear mesh also,,,I normally set it with just a fraction of a hair of back lash. On the 12S-- no back lash,,,the pinion is just bearly seated with no pre-load.

I've got my head change speed to mid range and it's on the slow side of spool up for me but don't have to worry about stripping gears so all is well. I only auto when I have to any way.

That was some serious rooting tooting blade fartage there! It even farted when he went down to idleup 1 at the end. Must be a kontronic ESC because it still didn't bog.

Did you know that blade farting comes with a drop in efficiency of the airfoil (power goes up and thrust goes down)?
If you can do it without the farting, the heli would actually be more responsive....with less power.

Not to take away from that flight...which was awesome.

Sorry to bust your bubble McKrackin, but this is an N/e thing.

You see, you just need to further develop and hone your skills as you are dealing with machines now...not maintenance free, throw away toys.
It's good to see you're enjoying the challenges of your advancement.

Sorry, I just couldn't resist. Ready to duck for the brick that's comming my way.
Nice one Bob. That made him so mad he closed the thread

Some folks (like EvN guys) like to joke around. Some folks don't care much for it.

BOTH!

I will say that in the UK, petrol is nearly £1.50/Ltr, generators usually use 1 Ltr an hour. Lets say 30 mins to charge 2 6s 5000mah packs for a 700E, thats 75p in petrol added to each flight!

You can see how flying a 700E back to back in the UK gets expensive!

We are thinking about getting a Diesel geny at our field and running it on red diesel.

60% of the time, it works every time!

Anyway EvN when said quickly sounds like the word "Even" which is pretty much the general consensus. Both sides are "Even".

Shame on you Rog...that was not in the spirit of this thread.

Besides, electromotive force is universally denoted be a small "e"

Nitrogen with a LARGE "N"

See? The entire scientific community agrees...
