i've flown both and i can push an electric much harder, i'm no pro, but its nice to know if you get a bit heavy handed, you don't hear your engine go "brouggggghhh" and lose headspeed.

If you like nitro, keep on enjoying your modern day equivalent to steam engines. Your time is almost up. And unless you really are a pro (like tareq and many others), you wont' be able to manage the collective and tail quite so well wit extreme pitches. Have fun rebuilding.

I know, i know. I'm not crazy flier either, but my logo 600 12s can only handle about 15 degrees of pitch at 2200 rpm, i know its not much
2200 rpm and 15 degrees of cyclic

what length blades on that 12s 600?
Edge 603's
I have a felling that you don't even know where hover point is on the collective, lol. Full positive, full negative, full positive, full negative, cut power! hold on for landing!
Yep pretty much

You actually have a good point. The thing I definitely need to work on is finding mid point on the collective doing roll maneuvers. Those little rainbow half rolls at mid point and attempting two-four point rolls is when I notice the heli drifting some off axis

Yesterday passed the time well I thought. Off work today. Heading to field now.

Let's see that TX of yours run on nitro. Electric rules!

Rogman, I don't see no stink'n wind. Besides, it keeps the planks out of the air.

It's a beautiful day in the Big Bend - no wind and blue skies. I'm loading up my truck with some smok'n, stink'n, oil drip'n nitro helis right now. I haven't flown a nitro in over 6 months. I hope I'm not disappointed!

Rogman88 Only if it's inflammatory. No nice comments here.

Anyway. I slammed the collective hard and long today. Why? Because it's fun, I don't fly nitro so I can!

Yea,,I hate boring videos too!!(PCTKB?)

I'm going to settle this arguement once and for all. I have never seen a nitro heli in person. I don't know squat about them. I've been all electric for my brief two-year career,,,T-250,,T-500FBL,, T-550FBL and T-600FBL 12S.

But I just bought a nitro kit. Partly for curiosity,,,but mostly to put a stop to this thread,,LOL.

T-700N FBL
YS 91SR 3Ds/Hatori
JR8717 cylic
DS620 throttle
DS650 tail
VBar

IF,,,and thats a big IF,,,I can get this thing flying, I'll tell you all exactly which is better. Both from flying and from my wallet! So far,,the wallet lost,,LOL,,,I'm hoping operating costs will make up for that!

in theory all that electric set-up will pay off in fuel savings
IF and a big IF
if you fly alot, more than 50 flights a month
If you don't burn something up
if you don't crash
alot of IF's

p.s.
forgot about the ands or buts

.

First you need to buy a 700E if you wanna do that. Can't compare a 600 to 700 as the cost isn't close to the same..

why do electric guys keep referring to nitro heli's as lawn equipment

maybe compare a gasser to electric I could understand

the gasser wins hands down for flight time and operating cost
then nitro
then electric

if your a power hungry 3D maniac reverse the above order

I'm not comparing a 600 to a 700,,I'm comparing nitro to electric. Genral rules apply no matter the size. Just wanna see what the fuss is about!

Personally, I have been growing to hate the batteries, changing them out after flights, maintaining them, storing them, charging them, argh it just starts to wear. Nitro is fuel and go, fuel a go. Only thing I don't like about nitro is the constant tuning when weather changes. and when flying, there is just something special to a nitro motor burning fuel. Guess the common mis-conception these days is the more insane power you have and faster flip rates, that makes you a better pilot A guy could fly a .30 size nitro and have WAY more skills than a guy flying a 12hp 700 doing giant rainbows and collective slamming tic tocs all day long.

You said it, not me

The good thing about nitros is that you actually get to see your money go up in smoke on every flight.

So I guess an electric vehicle is a toy compared to a gas car
