14-15 degrees

On a high powered electric will just pull and pull. A nitro will eventually bog down. Collective management is a good thing though.
Only because most Nitros are powered for decent flight time.

Can you tell us what nitro's you owned with a newer UP TO DATE engine and how much experience do you have being as you seem to know what your talking about? What about the video with Tim Jones and the NEW YS 120?Said him self that it's running kinda rich and has no issues pulling "14 degrees of pitch" .He beat the crap out of that 700N and it didn't miss a beat.Im sure some will say that's because he's a "pro pilot" so i'll stick my heli out their.
My 600LE/OS 55 pull's "14 degree's of pitch" all day long with no issues at all and my collective management isn't close to perfect.I use all my collective alot and tell me if you see my heli bogging like you said..Just saying man, these newer motor's are nothing like some of you guy's say.Wish you kept the 700N Ron and put a newer nitro motor in it.I know 90's size nitro's do cost ALOT in fuel and can't comment on 90 size electric's.My 600N is ALOT cheaper for me to fly over my 600E,that's why I fly nitro more.Im sure if you tried a newer nitro motor in a 90,you would still fly the electric's more but have a blast flying the nitro 2 flight's a day, that's how it is with my 50's..Owning both is the best way to go IMO..

Rog, we gotta get out for a drink one day. We'd probably get into a match of who can drink the most and we'd sure wind up having a BLAST!
That would be awesome! I haven't had much alchohol since college so my tolerance may be down. I did drink enough in college to last the rest of my life however...

Choices
Héhé,
Seriously, This heli is slow

I wish I had time and money to make a dyno tug between the oponnents !
and post a video of that

That tug is until the battery ran out which it should before the nitro tank.

Say O.S. Max .91 HZ-R 3D -VS- Kontronik Pyro 700-520
Both equipped with the best components (ESC,batteries Muffler, fuel) there is

Of course the OS would have to drive a 700N cooling fan
Pyro has one too but incorporated in its design.

This would be really fun but not very instructive because we already know what will happen.

With 600ml 30% nitro and 5000mah 12S battery

These figures would be pretty close to :
Best Peak power = Electric (by 2hp or 1490W)
Best Duration = Nitro (by 3 minutes)
Duration at same power level = Nitro (by 1.5 minutes)

On paper nitro look better, but...power is addictive

make your choices :-)

Buddy had 4 (2 flight pack's) out of 10 (total of 5 flight pack's) that didn't make it past 100 flight's.
Yup, some people can tear up an anvil in the middle of a plowed field!

I doubt the 55 will do it. You need to put a 91 in it. I geared mine to about 6.4:1 (can't remember exactly right now.)Have run it at 2450+ Have it falling to peak HP at 2350 RPM.
I used a mod1 T700 gear and made my own pinion.

Kinda funny if you think about it. The e-guys have been putting bigger and bigger power systems in their helis for years. And the outcome is insane power, heavy and low flight times. So a Nitro guy suggests the same and they laugh. Nervous laugh I suppose.

Honestly, Blatestrikes, perhaps you should not bother. It doesn't look like you are in that much need of more power. You're getting some good flights in on your Nitro and great duration judging from your vids. Unless, of course, you want to join the brow licking contest the e guys are having.

OOooo, that lifted something off the bottom of the pot.

I'll eat my own word's.The OS 55 pull's just as hard as a OS 70 in a 600N so im interested in how my OS 55 will pull 2300rpm's like my electric..Im running the OS 55 at 2100rpm's with 14 degree's of pitch and not bogging it.It make's 2.1hp which is a BIG step-up from the Hyper 50.The OS 55 make's the OS 50 Hyper feel closer to a OS 37 but not as bad.The power is awesome and 200rpm's more will make a big difference in how fast/quick it is.Need to find out what pinion to use so I can run 2300-2400rpm and stay in the engine's power band.

I know exactly what your saying and im more than happy with my nitro's power and speed. My 600E is faster due to the higher headspeed but that's all it has over nitro.Just kinda wondering what it would be like with the same headspeed and if the motor can handle it as it has no issue's at all right now.My guess is I might have to drop down to 12 1/2 to 13 degree of pitch.A pinion is only a few buck's so not like i'll be out of money haha..
