BladeStrikes/Lon, This is not a back stabbing, crybaby or girls crying issue. You are missing a big point about the noise from nitro and gassers.

Many of us fly at an AMA chartered field that is also on public property. We don't wildcat at some open field near our homes. The AMA has established guidelines for noise as do most local ordinances. The AMA rules for Leader chartered clubs restricts noise to 90dBA at 9 feet. My club is AMA Gold Leader. The local laws covering our field don't even have an exact sound pressure level limit. It is up any and every individual's discretion if the sound is considered noise, and noise violates the law!
http://www.leoncountyfl.gov/GROWTH/...an/ORD08-08.pdf
I have measured the sound pressure level at our field when gassers and some loud nitro engines are running/flying. They exceed the 90dBA limit at well over 50 feet! So you see, they violate both the AMA requirements and local law.

We have neighbors who live adjacent to our field, within about 300 feet of our flight line. If they get annoyed by the noise from our models they can simply call the county and complain or call law enforcement. If this happened often, we would certainly lose our field!
have you measured the sound of a 700 electric blade farts they are pretty loud.

I heard that some wildlife protection agency has found that the noise that is generated by electric motor systems on RC helicopters is having adverse effects on the breeding patterns of the Swiggle Toed Marsblatt.
Probably some regulations are coming.

Are you saying they are louder with the E's? And if so, is it because 700E's are way more powerful, or because the noisy nitro motor drowns them out? Either way nitro loses on this point too!

My favorite blade fart is flying directly at myself then turning hard right with blades facing me about 20 ft in front. I can hear people running away from the flight line using all sorts of adjectives behind me as the heli rips a new one through the air. Man I love blade farts they sure know how to clear a flight line!!!

+1

I have a similar move like that. I call it the spectator stepback.
Although nitro is far more effective when doing this.

A better one than that is the "scare crow". Put your heli a little further out than normal and pull a rainbow straight at yourself on takeoff, then stop it as close to yourself as you feel comfortable. You'll find out real quick who has balls and who doesn't!!!

I've made a few people run for cover with this move.

Well, with Nitro, you'd get the aroma effect as well. A fart isn't a fart without the stench.

Electric with blade farts, I prefer the silent and violent type it really shocks people and takes them off guard.

...Once upon a time there were Nitros, flybars and frequency pins...
