Anthony,

Until you get both of these receivers in your hands and crack them open to inspect the PCBs, or are buddy-buddy with Futaba's Japanese engineers the difference is likely:

I doubt that.
When has Futaba EVER done anything based purely on Marketing?
Its not the way they work IMO.

WOW $260 is really a great price (320-60) for Futaba quality. I will definitely be putting one on order.

Does anyone know if the governor EP compatible (1:1 gear ratio option).

There is HUGE different between Curtis Youngblood's small company and the large Japanese corporation of Futaba. No offense to Curtis, but Futaba has way more resources behind it and the means to produce an outstanding product.

I had a Futaba mechanical rate Gyro back in 84 and even then it was top notch. Noisy, big and heavy, but it worked very well.Just another crappy day in Paradise....Aloha!

Yes the Total-G is becoming somewhat of a joke. You don’t see them flying much any more. Maybe the next firmware update will fix them.

Then why did a tiny company named Spartan kick their ass in tail gyros?

And how did a big company like Align produce the 3G?

Does Spartan have any plans to come out with a 3D flybarless system?

They didnt. Spartan markets a respectable gyro but to say that "Spartan kick their ass in tail gyros"...
That has never happened...
And how did a big company like Align produce the 3G?
I don't think that I completely understand the question but I suppose the answer would be that it was a natural progression from their tail rotor gyro.

Big companies have a lot more planning that goes into making a product and sometimes gets caught up in planning... From there they have a smaller test and design budget. Remember the V Bar was created by one man and that has a tail gyro on it that is pretty much as good as it gets. The individual that created the spartans and vbars and SK's all have one thing in common...passion for what they are doing...and the budget was mostly spent getting it done. That is what makes a good product.

Futaba will come out with something pretty good for the masses but their ability to generate updates will come much slower. And I pretty much assure you that they will need some updates after the end users get their hands on it...they always find something wrong

And we all know that Align is a big company but there electronics were never the highest end...more mid grade but very functional. The 3G really isnt that bad for the price and preformance. Does it need upgrades...yeah it could use some but they make so much money on it as is from a business stand point there really isnt a reason to. They also have a pretty brilliant scheme where they include their electronics in thier kits so it there in front of you to use from the start.

Getting it right on the first time will be a feat without comparison, perhaps futaba can do it, if anyone it sure would be them, but i doubt it, its a million to one.

Why? Simple, even if you have the best tail gyro, that technology wont be good enough, thats why others has "failed" thinking that adapting tail routines is good enough for cyclic.

Too many have fallen into that trap already.

Same really goes for governor, soon you will see that a governor that really use the full capability it can, and it can be so much better.
So just taking a good governor and box it in a FBL solution will be ok, but not the best.

FBL is 90% software, its about tweaking the software, in the end, which will be the best? I say the one that does not stop development, thats the winner.

Like eco8gator said, those that "burn" for their product, constantly driving to the next level, thats where we see the really good new stuff.

Why is is it that its so hard?
Simple version, take all brand helis times all blade models times all servos times all power solutions = an insane amount of variations. Thats really why its hard to design the "ultimate" system.

Good for us consumers we can read on the forums and choose the system that probably fit our needs.

Hence i say, Futaba coming out with a system that is perfect, and fit all, is a very slim chance, but if they pull that out of the hat they deserve the credit.

(i just swapped to futaba radios, again, so i like their electronics, so my view here is just a general feel.)

LOL - You can say that again. The main problem with Align is hat they let the customers do the beta testing. Some things like motors and ESC’s they have never been able to make a quality product.

I am really glad to see Futaba enter the flybarless market.

Does anyone know if there will be an adapter or will everyone have to buy an S-Bus receiver? The Spektrum guys are going to complain a lot if they have to buy a FASST Tx module and FASST S-Bus Rx.

Also my 7C-2.4 won’t work with any of the S-Bus receivers. My 8FGH works great but I would like to be able to use both transmitters.
