I am setting up my 700 with the vbar mini 5.0 and when I follow the instructions it said to level the swash which I did but after I set it up and went through all the steps if I add collective it is level at center if I go up or down the swash does not stay level. Say if I have my swash leveler tool on and it is at full negative the 2 front tabs are touching as I go up to center all 3 tabs touch and then to full positive only the back one touches. Is this normal and the vbar just adjusts for it inflight or do I have to get it right like the old flybar setup? They dont tell you anything on how to fix this and I am going crazy trying to figure it out.

If you are in setup mode then the swash plate should be level through the full travel for best performance but if you are in the flight parameter view or not connected to the software then the swash plate will not be level. If you are in setup mode and the swash plate is not level then you can correct it under the "Trim" tab if you have the V-Bar 5.0 Pro version but if you have the express version then you can only adjust it at 0 pitch. Obviously this is not ideal but the VBar will compensate for any deviation from the commanded input.

I will double check if it is level in setup mode it seemed like it was fine but after I was done and disconnected everything and tried it the swash was not level and I noticed sometimes it was off not just front to back but side to side also depending on how I was moving the sticks basically if I added aileron or elev the swash didnt always seem to go back to perfect center is this normal also like a hh gyro on the tail or do I need to resetup? I am useing the express software.

If you are not in setup mode (connected to the software) then it is perfectly normal that the swash plate does not stay level as you change the collective pitch. It will however work perfectly in flight.

Thanks for the info it makes me feel better. I wish the instruction told you a little more about what to expect so we don't have to fight stuff that looks wrong but is normal.

Ok I checked it in the setup mode and it is still doing the same thing level at 0 deg, at full neg the 2 front tabs touch the leveler tool, and at full positive only the back tab touches the leveler tool like a slight arch from low to high. The setup does not prompt you to check low and high just the center so does it just correct itself in the vbar unit? I know in the pro you can fix it but not in the express version. Any more info would be appreciated. Am I better off getting the pro so I can adjust this out or will it fly like a champ the way it is? I dont want to spend more money if I dont need to.

Is it possible you do not have the same distance on the servo arm on that servo?

Same distance on the arm. I have checked and rechecked everything from machanically 90deg and also my setup in the vbar software all is centered at 0deg and it took only one or two clicks in the software on one servo to make it perfectly level so I dont think it is the linkage. On the old flybar system we used to go in to atv and set top and bottom there but in this setup they have you set it to 100% top and bottom and dont touch it again. In the pro software I see MrMell in his video has a place to adjust top and bottom but not in the express software so I am assuming it is normal and wont be a problem but i would like to make sure. Also is the pro software worth the money for the few extra adjustments it has, will it makethe vbar fly better?

Helicraze is correct, elevator compensation which was adjustable in older versions did that. You can adjust it in pro version but i dont think it will be a problem. Only reason i used it before was to make pitchy heli's fly better, usually because of blade issues. Pro will not make it fly better however i reckon it's worth the small expense for the log file alone as you can troubleshoot issues and vibes.

Common sense may not be common after all
