Hi Guys, here is a video of the new TRM VX231RS in the new Radikal 30. This was geared at 6.9 and running head speed at 1950 and 2000 rpm which put the engine at 13500 to 13800 rpm.the new spec will handle the 6.4 as well. The VX231RS "reaper strain" is a mutation of the original VX231 which set the standard in 3d gas engines. It has a wider spread of power to handle the even higher rpm needs. both motors are now available, you can them see on my website http://www.trmpower.com ,more videos and announcements to follow. Peace, Al

You guys have already seen this video which i added to the thread but this has the gearing at 6.4 so you can see the versatility of the motors power curve.

OK Bill now I got to ask. You got so excited about Wally's 30, so leaving out the politics, where does each one fit in? Would you now prefer the VX231RS in the Radical and Wally's 30 in the bigger gassers or are you now retracting everything you said about the 30 revolution?

Thanks Bill, Ace I think Bill is able to appeciate another motor without deviating from his own likes or feelings on what he believes the direction should go. I forgot to mention Mike Zellars graciously donated his Radikal 30 for the Video, Russ Prince for the awesome aerial display and Carey Shurley for the great video work. I could not have done this without their help. Peace, Al

Have you not ever heard of ANY RC helicopter flying impressively with more then one engine?

The 50 nitros all seem to fly impressively with OS-55's, YS-56's and Rossi 57's. So why should it be any different for a Radikal G30???....or Spectra G or Bergen EB or any large gasser.

What of all the 90 nitros that fly so well on a number of different 90 class motors?

Or should we really take your remark to be coming from a "stir the crap" stick in order to also get this thread closed?

Here is a great video of a very worthy heli, powered by a very worthy engine, flown by a very worthy pilot and filmed by a very worthy camera man. All from different manufacturers.

If that does not indicate that the gasser community is here to promote gasoline powered helis, and their relative proficiency when compared to heli powered by other sources, then nothing does.

(1) This is a good video of Allen's work, It also give more choices on what engines a out there for the Radikal 30,
(2)If Bill decides the TRM231 is as good or better then the Z-30. Politics or no Politics that's his opinion.
(3) Good video's make for good competition in this hobby. Seeing is believing. Not the Sourer Grape "Rep Talk" that clouds decisions and dirties the competition.

I hope to see more good video's from Allen

Breaking the rules closes threads not asking questions.

Pardon me if I am not impressed with what I saw in this video. I am one person and I have my own likes and dislikes. I would like to hear from Bill what he really thinks if he is allowed to publicly speak his mind. If he is not allowed I will understand and that will be the end of it as far as I am concerned.

Al, I have one question for you. In this video was a governor used?

I agree. What some people do not seem to understand, is that if you look at reps from different companies you will probably find that they all do not run the same motors, use the same radios or the same gyros or governors.

So I cannot see how if one who used "X" motor, radio, gyro, governor or whatever and told people, and then also tried another and also liked it, can be seen as "sour grapes". Maybe he could be showing people all the options available for them to use on that particular heli

Personally, the more motors, servos, gyros.governors etc. that one can use with any particular heli just shows how versatile they all are.

I'd like to see what impresses you. Would you happen to have any videos of your heli's? Not being a wise guy just curious as to what performance level impresses you.

Looked to me like an awesome flight on a nice heli by an awesome pilot. I think its exciting there are more choices out there to use for a powerplant. Not to mention another worthy gasser heli to put that powerplant in. I hope support for it will be copius.

At the same time its disapointing to see a particular poster leap to cast a negative tone on it without any indication of laying a hand on the motor showcased. Well he!! this is the way its always been so why would it change now. Always someone ready to pee in the cherios.

Rock on Al, looks like a real nice offering!

Guy's please..... please..... stop acting so childish

I'm a new guy to the hobby and have been wanting to start off with a gasser; however, as of late I'm getting sick of you going back and forth stroking your ego's. I understand we have questions but there are way's to ask them, remember your tone can be taken out of context easily when it is in writting.

Can we all just get along? The nitro guy's just sit back and laugh at us. We can't run off the new hobbiest this way.

Gasoline engines are getting better and you could say like electrics we are on the cutting edge of technology with the new advancements in the works. Let's build eachother up not tear us down.

I'm really considering the G30, bergen, and or a converted T700g. These post are very important to my thought process.

Thanks guys.

Sounds like were cooking with gas....

If I could give you some friendly advice, and quote Tom Fiddler " Unless you have help, and deep pockets I wouldn't start out with a gasser". The learning curve is really something, and compound that with learning to fly......... oh boy.

Thanks for the advice Kopter.

I don't have the deep pockets but with some good help and a little luck I feel very comfortable with learning how to fly one. Also I can lean on you brother if I get in too deep.

Thanks

Can't say that I agree with that assessment KopterKat. A Gasser can be no different than a Nitro provided you take your time. Rush into a Nitro heli and you can have the same issues you would with a Gasser. The obvious difference, there are more "resources" for you to pull from when it comes to Nitros as just about everyone will be able to find someone locally to help them out. But even with that said, there is enough info out there to make putting a Gasser in the air an enjoyable experience.

As for Al's engine. I am damn glad I decided to get one. It has been one of the best, if not the best, engine I have dealt with yet. There are a few engines I have not tried yet, and if time and finances allow, I fully intend to. But I can tell you this much. His engine started right up. Was easy to tune. Is smooth. Puts out great power and has a pretty broad usable RPM range. And best of all, is reliable. I think if you watch the video and really pay attention, you can see just how well his engine is running.
