Had an "incident" this past sunday with the E9

Needless to say every single non-metal gear in the machine got it hahaha alot of energy was dissapated through her... ~$900 smash

So as usual I took the opportunity to upgrade! Looking for metal tail gears for a while the only place I could find was fast-lad in the UK and I thought I'd share the info, they have some stuff in stock thats hard to come across,

w w w.fast-lad.co.uk/store/index.php?manufacturers_id=80

$60 bucks for the tail gears shipped to me in Allentown, Pennsylvania. Not too bad

I spaced out the w's in the link so hopefully the mod dosn't get pissed

BOOM! Left hook... that just changed the fight..

Sorry guys I know the pic sucks, I took it with my blackberry

Experience RC was actually one of the first places I checked because I ordered my 2nd E9 kit from them, diddn't have any in stock, seems like the metal tail gears are about as hard to find as a 16tooth pinion

The frames did not hold up well, the wreck was bad yet not that bad... I've already got a new frame set together with all the electronics mounted, I will take some pics with my camera of the wrecked individual frame sides so you can see where they cracked. The disc was turning @ 2050 when it met the ground. When I got to it, the mainshaft had been literally ripped almost 45 degrees out of the frames!! The bottom bearing on the mainshaft was protruding a good 3 inches after busting out of the plastic bearing block and the frames!! It looked like all the energy from the disc stopping acted on the mainshaft and ripped it from the frames. Luckily because of how it happened my entire nose area with virtually all my electronics took zero damage

pics of the wrecked frames will be up in a few...

BOOM! Left hook... that just changed the fight..

Depending on the angle in some of the pics it may be hard to see the crack/stress fractures so anywhere you see my thumb pointing theres a crack... it looks to me like the bottom of the frames towards the front where the packs mount is a weak spot, or at least it was a weak spot in my wreck as well as the upper part of the frames right behind the mainshaft...

Shes almost back together!!

BOOM! Left hook... that just changed the fight..

Wow! got the crap knocked out of it..
Good to see your getting close to going again. Have you looked at metal bearing blocks? I use Kasama thrusted main shaft bearing blocks.. Not that they'd be any better than the plastic as far as breaking the frames.

No really I havn't flowen it because of lack of funds if I crash it . My N9 seems to have an attraction with the ground lately

Forgot to say my one metal gear and one plastic gear worked out great . The first crash the TT was unscaved and the plastic gear took the hit . Second crash the tail was in the ground first . The metal gear was all good and the plastic one was not so good .

I have been thinking of the billet crown gear again !

All my Synergies seem to be attracted to the ground lol
Don't worry about being the first to smash one! That's been taken care of
I ordered some plastic gears too, going to be running one plastic one metal also
And its funny you mention the Kasama bearing blocks because thats whats going in my E9 later today!! I had to dremel the one x-brace to get the block to fit, cgbole did you have the same issue?

BOOM! Left hook... that just changed the fight..
