I will leave out specific brand related stuff out as the main interest is to see if it can be flown hard AS IS.

I've decided to separate this from the poll I was running.

----------------------------------------------------------------

450 pro clone has been obtained.

I now have a clone 450 pro FB version for test. During the build, I will only note things that don't fit or have problems with.

Unfortunately, I do not own the Align 450 pro to compare each and every part so see which one shines more.

I don't know just how quickly the build will go since I'm still trying to put together a heli to test FS-600 on. The top mounted plugs are a bit more pain than I thought it was going to be when a real estate is scarce.

What I want to find out is if the heli can be built without any rework or part substituted.

Issues so far

1. No manual - being printed

2. Assembled tail case has a fair amount of slop from the pitch link on both grip side and pitch slider side. The issue has been mentioned to the distributor. If the new part comes before the maiden (not likely), it will be swapped out. Otherwise, it will be flown as is. This may cause tail wag at hard funnel maneuvers.

They only had the Tt version for Pro.
When I find out, so you will.

The white circle in the last picture shows the part that fits too loose and have slop.

No

My main interest is to find out if these are safe to fly and would hold up under torture. I did not want an unnecessary publicity for the company or a blow. However, if the heli survives a set number (not determined yet), we will release a video on Justin's YT site.

While we will try to shoot first few flights, I don't want people to think that it is safe to go out and buy based on that. This will be the trickest part.

At that point I'll determine if it makes sense to post the video here or not.

I have owned your unnamed clone. Mine too had excessive tail slop compared to the genuine align pro machine. Some thing to keep an eye on are the screws holding the mixing arms on. The clone unit is not a 100% clone of the align head so the arms are a little different (ratios seem same though), and for me required more atttention (the back of the clone arms are not machined same and wahers are used for spacing). The head flys similar to the original align head but did not track as true as the genuine align pro head. The clone head basically felt like an align head with about 10 crashes on it.

I'll pay more attention to those areas. I believe this maybe another variation of the one you've owned. It just became available with no available manual yet.

Building:

Boom mount bracket on the frame side uses 4 screws (2 per side) to secure the boom. With those reasonably tight, I still can wiggle the boom out without much effort.

This will need some means of pinning in order to keep it from twisting a bit or backing out.

Got side tracked on building a velocity 90 for a bit. I'm taking a slower route hoping that some of the things discovered are addressed by the manufacturer. The boom that can't be tightened on the boom bracket is a bit of an issue. It can be made to work. But this is something the factory should fix.

I had confirmed these with the distrbutor to make sure it wasn't an isolated problem.

Still waiting.

I set out to fly a clone as is. This is a Chaos 450 Pro FB version.

I am still waiting for them to fix the issue with boom being loose and the tail fork link with way too much slop.

Although I can fly it with Align replacement parts, that would defeat the purpose of this whole exercise. RCAerodyne said those improvements will be in by the time December rolls in.

Once the stock heli is suitable for flight, we intend to beat on it to see how well it holds up.
