There was never a SE Gasser produced. However the SE Carbon radio tray can be adapted to the front of the 1006 frames. My self and several others have done it.

It makes a nice sturdy installation.

I built several of those
For MIT and Aurora flight sciences back in the early to mid 2000's time frame. Basically we bought a 99se kit which was the top of the line kit at the time with all the upgrades and I changed out the frames to support the gas G231 motor in them as the nitro motors had no endurance for autonomous flight.

You can see one of them that I built was recently advertised here for sale by pilot1. I know it was mine as it had the special gear on it as well as a #2 sticker meaning it was MIT#2 out of the 6.

I own a 1005..I still think the older front platform is much easier to deal with...Doing the collective servo was a nightmare on the Se ... I have the Se front end and will probably give it away...

The 1005 is the only gas heli built by ma that was fantastic..The Spectra has caused a lot of grief for a lot of folks.. I would stay as far away from it as possible, especially for the novice..

I have seen many novice on here start out, and still don't have their machines flying yet...

I do like my 1005 though

Hey thetoyman....it ain't possible to send anything to you as your destination is "gone flying"

Seriously though. I bought my MA 1005 new in 97 but the folks round here have never nmanaged to really get to grips with the SpectraG. Always issues that they couldn't resolve. I have seen Bind n fly going for under £600.00 with good gear and not being sold.

It is what it is my friend just tellin how it is over here.

I dont think i said anything about the spectra in this thread, i think this comment above was for a different thread.

I think alot of people have trouble with the spectra becuase it is a builders kit, it`s more of a Miniature aircraft than a plastic toy like alot of other models!

and the 1005 isn't a builders kit?

i know people that built both but always had issues with the spectra. These people are "builders". It is not always the end users fault
