Round and round it goes........
All I can say is that over the years I have spent many of my hard earned dollars on Century Helis and parts. Im talking many dozens of orders, likely over 100, which of course would span many many hundreds of individual parts. Out of those, I have only had issue with one. A clutch shoe with a manufacturing defect. After a short call and a few days the replacement was at my door.

When the few issues with the new G20 came up, it was Century telling its customers that there was a problem and what was being done to fix it, and fix it they did, quickly.

Need a part for an original Hawk, Raven, Falcon, Predator? Available.

My "other" brand of Heli is Mikado. I have had similar experiences with that line as well. On occasion, a shaft needs to be sanded down to get the swash or tail slider smooth as I like it or some other minor fine touch to get it just so.

My point is, fine tuning, fiddling, and working thru minor issues is common throughout most lines and part of the building process.

No I would not be happy with my balls falling out of the cage, and Yes some times the assembly instructions leave something to be desired (BTW the Logo Manuals offer only pictures and very little instruction).

On your slider, I would have broken out the 400 grit and worked the shaft till it fit. On the bearings, Many bearing manufacturers dont grease bearings. Do yourself a HUGE favor, get a bearing buddy. My SOP is to pack every bearing prior to installation. Its the only way to know.

Im sorry you had this experience but I assure you its not common. Forgo Century if your experience demands it but Ill say this, if you are "banning" a line for this, you'll run through all the others in short order.

IMO, Century makes a good Heli and supports it well.

RIP ROMAN

My expirence told, sense thread was mysteriously closed.
Hi big scott

Big scott, Funny you mentioned notchy bearings on the head. I got a whole new century metal head. Put it together and it felt like s#it. Made a phone call and verified all measurements of everything over the phone (I mean everything, MY CALL) in the end of the conversation the measurement specs all checked out OK, and was told not to tighten the spindle, WOW. Cost to much to change the design this late in the game, so have us just half ass it.

Also they had a recall on the plastic grips breaking off, and now there telling us not to tighten the blade grips, hmm.

At least with software (newer radios, esc's, ect) when the company messes up they make a revision that you can download for free. Where's my revision.

I do like how this bird fly's though, when its good its good, just think they could have spent another year going threw the testing phases, and you can say that about a lot of companies. Got to get their latest and greatest on the market fist though.

Edit: no point stirring up the poop. Lets just agree that Century could improve their tech support process and their docs.

I like their helis and hope to have our Hawk Pro in the air sometime soon.

Since Paul went on a three week holiday about a month ago, I believe their service department was under the direction of someone else.

That seemed to be when these service complaints seemed to start.

Now that Paul is back, I hope he is given the responsibilities for the service department again. For the years he had the responsibility, it went very well.

+1 for Paul. He helped me tremendously with my Radikal build.

It's a complex, costly, glow powered anti-gravity machine!

That points to a procedural/management problem. No Company or department should be dependant on one individual. Im a Century fan, like the brand, like the store, like the service but come on guys
Standardise your procedures, get all your people on the same page.
We should not have to talk to only one guy!
Im sure Paul would be happy if anyone could handle it like he can.
