hi, ive just built my trex 500, and the main blades feel realy tight ive only tightend the blade bolts a little bit. the blades felt tight when i pushed them into the blade grips. the blades im using are the ones you get with the kit. should they be a tight fit on the trex 500 or is it a good idea to use a little bit of grease on the blades to loosen them up.

Blades shouldn't fold at softstart. Then, they should perfectly straighten themselves at moderate headspeed.
What do you mean by "really tight"?

My ESP blade grips were the same way. I tried a different set of blades thinking it was the blade root but it is indeed the grips themselves.

what i mean is by realy tight is there is no slack in the blades. the blades dont even fall under there own wight. you have to aply a little bit of force with your hands to move the blades. i also fly a sceadu 50 and i would say that if the blades where that tight on a sceadu that they would be to tight the blades on the trex 500 are tighter then the ones on my sceadu but i can slacken the blades on the sceadu by undoing the bolts, but if i undo the bolts on the trex 500 the blades dont get anymore slack the blades are a tight fit even if the bolts are not tightend up. are the blades on a trex 500 a tighter fit then the blades on a sceadu.

A metal grip with no washers will be tight, especially when new. All Align helis have this s/u so it works.
Move the blade in the grip a bunch of times to seat it in, then set the bolt until the slack is taken out then go fly.

It's not the blade grips,,,it's the blades. Align blades are thicker than most. Try some Edge blades,,they slide right in,,,rotor techs slide in too.. It's not a problem unless they are so tight you can't swing them back to the blade holders. And you don't want them so tight that they don't center on spool-up. Nothing wrong with sanding the root faces,,,take a little paint off.
