hi guys, i cant keep this to myself anymore. the more i think about it the more it pisses me off.

here's what im talking about....

first i pick up the fbl head and first it came with no instructions and the thin washers did not work. they were to thick.

then i picked up the alum. tail with the alum. tail slider.
first i had a hard time finding the parts.
i got them and the tail came in parts so i had to put it together. again no instructions and yes i know how to put it together but thats not the point.
pull the parts out of the bags installed the inner bearings into the blade grip's then tried sliding the blade grips onto the hub shaft well guess what it would not go on because the inner dia. of the bearing's were to small. at this point im freakin pissed.

took the tail slider out of the package and i spun the bearing , well guess what the bearing hardly turns the bearing is very notchy.

rant over..................

I just got my first order of parts from Century, both stock replacement and upgrades. The instructions and photos ranged from good to absolutely useless. I still can't figure out how the tail rotor servo mount is supposed to be attached. The photo is just a black blob and the text mentions parts that I neither have nor were in the kit. The throttle arm didn't come with the screw/bolt to attach it. Oddly enough I had a perfect-fitting hex bolt in my Raptor G2 spares box. The instructions for another upgrade had pics that are different from the original instruction manual. The rotor stop disc kit had no instructions and I can't see any way to attach it--missing parts or is the wrong kit maybe.

The rotor bearing upgrade kit did have good instructions, good pics, and all the parts were excellent.

A good product doesn't require aftersales support

I'll bet if you bought a swift 550 today it would still have all the same probs it did 4 yrs ago.
or a Hawk pro it would still have the same old vague instructions.
actualy any new kit still has the same probs from it's initial release.

some of the reasons I gave up on Century.

Century has good parts and everyone has issues from time to time. Some of their manuals are very old and outdated. They need to be revamped. This is a call to action Century. It's not re-tooling parts; it doesn't cost much to re-print some of the older manuals to help the rest of us. The current NX50 manual is a dream come true. The rest of the line should follow suit.

yes i e-mail century and i was told to put a little thread lock on the spindle bolts and leave them loose. that is bogus and bad info. instead of resolving the issue they tell me that.

as for the tail and slider no i did not for one i got them from another online store because century was out of stock. and because if i can get that response for the head i can just imagine what they would have told me. so i did not wast my time.

i agree with you on the manuals being crap.
but when it comes to the parts well the parts look nice but when they come with parts that dont work and you have to spend more money just to get it to work is not good or right..

also i ether get the wrong bearings or the bearings are not good lick the bearings in my brand new tail slider that just came out of the package is not good.

when i got the fbl head the some of the balls came out of the thrush retainer and i told century this i was told ( just drop the balls back in there and put some grease in there) i dont want to here that crap replace them that would solve the problem.

i think im done with century. im not going to spend good money for brand new parts just to find out i need to spend more money just so i can use the part.

now if century had better c.s. maby i would stick with them but till then im done.

I'm sorry this has happen !!

all I can say is surely Century (like Ford and Chevy) can not inspect every Bearing they buy,

as for your Instructions, you have them in your Heli's Manual, both Plastic and Metal Tails use the same Hub same Bearings same Instructions, that is if you bought the right Tail

Uhmm those were warranty issues ....

or did they talk you through the repair ?

if I bought a msh protos for example
I don't need customer support because every part in the kit is correct and fits properly with out build issues.

That's a definition of a quality kit IMO

Scoott, I'm sorry, arguing with BM is not helping you, my bad !!

call Century, tell them the problem and ask for a MRN, Material Return Number (what ever they call it) and send the parts back, I know that wont help you now but that's all you can do,, sorry, big time !!!!!!
