Point is....

A JR rep will recommend a JR radio.

A futaba rep will recommend a Futaba radio.

A Hitech rep will recommend a Hiteck radio.

Where is the objectivity in that?
Zaneman

Maybe I have not come across the kind of Reps you mentioned. What you described above as Rep, I call a brand zealot or cheerleader. You can spot those a mile away.

Case in point, I had the honor of talking to many Reps even recently, who not only technically assist on their brand but that DO NOT BASH others, and they can objectically give you feedback on all they have experienced. Many of then are active in competition circuits, and impressive enough tell it like it is.

When I represented a particular Radio brand when I raced, I never minded assiting guys with the other brands, and probably more so than my brand, but I was always objective and the main point was to help. That attitude won a few costumers over.
Most companies pick Reps on the following virtues: they are smart, objective, successful, and can relate to people well. Being crazy about their brand a good Rep does not make!

Well, my point is, just because they Represent a particular brand DOES NOT MEAN their judgment or experience has gone out the window.

Love this holy wars. I've started one when said I didn't liked FBL stuff and took the flame, and I've tried VBar, 3G and SK360.

I can tell you this, I have a Vbar 5.0 Pro on my Protos now; and I like how it flies now. Tried VBar 4.0 on a Vibe and hated it; when I posted here I was treated like a stupid that didn't know to setup an heli and I hated those VBar cheerleaders, as Zane noted.

But I think after flying 3 manufacturers the VBar 5.0 Pro is way better and it has the _best_ gyro tail in the market; compared with my Spartans and my Futabas. Probably because it knows what happens on cyclic and collective.

I still do love flybars, I prefer them for smack down, is more natural for me. Piroing maneuvers are a bit different with a VBar on the cyclic but the tail is so consistent that it counteracts that

The 3G does feel very natural, but the minute you start with woobles on hard stops and try to do a chaos then I wanted my old flybar back.

OTH. Take in account good Reps, those who speak about the advantages of their products not those who talk about the flaws of the competency or talk crap about them.

Also, the VBar is quite cheap now considering the stuff you don't have to buy.

Touche'! Are you and your son not sponsored and rep for many products? If true your own comment applies to yourself included.
You are absolutely right. I usually only praise on stuff that I can also crap on such as purchased non sponsored stuff. We pay for Align and Logictech like the rest of you . I usually limit myself to answering the questions being asked on sponsored equipments. If I did praise the sponsored stuff, that will only look and sound like a sales pitch.

As mentioned on my other thread, I am able to review all brands of FBL systems in public because we are not tied to any system. I am actually doing it for us in selecting a system for Justin. Once selected and we fly for that system, I will lose the ability to freely criticize all systems.

Let me give an example. Justin flies for Neu Motors but I would not answer "Get Neu" even when someone asks "What 450 sized motor should I get?" If novice approach me with that question, I usually direct him to get a Scorpion or something similar because a $50 decent motor will be more than what he needs. However, if someone isn't happy with a Scorpion and asks the same question, then I would direct him to consider Neu.

I believe we represent our sponsors best by using them quietly. Hopefully people will see that we have chosen the product we use because we believe in them.

+1 thats a good honest answer there.

back on subject i did the mod to all 3 of my 3g's where you add silicon to the inside to support and dampen vibs from the sensors.

i put zeal inside the case and removed the tabs on mine worked great only have a tiny bit of bobble tuning to mess with now.

Who cares... its just money...

Just wondering, what makes the Mikado, Skookum and others better?
Well it's true the reputation is the biggest factor, new product always has to undergo some scrutiny. That's good, usually the manufacture will be pressure to improve their product as a result.

The new Futaba coming out sounds promising, but I'm afraid it's going to be expen$ive.
