I think we'd all agree that most everyone here wants to help their fellow pilots work through problems.

Help us help you.

Learn to ask questions that include enough information that it doesn't take 5 responses to figure out what the machine brand/model is, if you're trying to tune an engine that it would be helpful to know if there's a governor, things like that.

It really makes these threads drag on and on.

I couldn't agree more!

Many folks who have spent years on RR do get tired of answering the same questions over and over again.

As mentioned, help us help you.

1) Do a little homework first and use the search facility. Chances are your question has been asked already or is currently being discussed in another thread. There's no need to start another thread for the same question.

2) If you have a budget in my mind mention it. Nothing worse than spending time on a quality post to answer another "What's the best XXX?" question only to learn the poster's budget is much less than the best widget he was asking about.

3) Let us know where you live and have it in your profile. Remember, RR is global! Not all products and services are available globally.

If you want a quality response then start a quality question that includes all the necessary background information.

Sorry some feel that way. I never tire of answering questions, even simple ones that are easy to look up elsewhere. It's one of the reasons I come to RR, to help no matter how often the same question gets asked.
If you feel it's a repeated question and you are tiered of it, then skip over and go to the next topic.
I agree some don't include enough information, but that's just the way the old cookie crumbles.

I think about the hereafter. I go somewhere to get something, then wonder what I'm here after ?

Hi,

I tried to search RR for "helicopter" but got 70,000 hits. what I am doing wrong?

It's easy to find an excuse to do wrong. Hard is not to find an excuse to do right.

you can narrow that down by searching for "Align"

that won't narrow it much. Especially in the classifieds and "something doesn't work" sections.

No need to feel sorry, it's just the way the old cookie crumbles as you say. Some don't mind answering the same questions over and over and others grow tired of it. To each his own. We all have 168 hours in our week and it's up to us to decide how we want to spend them.

Please do a search before whining!
If you had done a search, you would have found out your comment about "doing a search first" was already made on April 7 2007.

How else would everyone become a RRProfessor unless they repeatedly say, "sorry for your loss" or "can you give some more information".

I personally say that it should be MANDATORY to fill out your profile as accurately as possible.

This will enable anyone out there looking to assist the posted question to look at the pilots equipment currently used!

If it's not accurate and/or updated, don't be disappointed in the limited responses....

Oh, yeah and use spell check!

Just my personal input!

+1 on spellcheck. It's a bit OT and I guess we mostly get our point across regardless but it frickin' bugs me.
