Palin Warns of ‘Armageddon,' 'Third World War' in Exclusive Newsmax Broadcast

Monday, 11 Oct 2010 08:02 PM By: David A. Patten

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, in an exclusive interview airing at 1 p.m. Tuesday on Newsmax.com, discusses her staunch opposition to President Barack Obama's healthcare plans and socialistic policies, and reveals new details about a possible presidential run in 2012.

She also warns that allowing Iran to acquire nuclear weapons may "lead to Armageddon" — a scenario that could lead to the deaths of millions in a Third World War.

Palin's comments came as Newsmax launched a special series of online webcasts entitled "Make America Great Again" — a title taken from Ronald Reagan’s campaign slogan when he was elected president in 1980.

Hosting the Newsmax series, which will continue to Election Day, is Newsmax contributor Michael Reagan, the eldest son of the late president. The kick-off event for the series is Reagan's half-hour, sit-down interview with Gov. Palin.

Though the Newsmax interview has yet to be released, some of Palin’s revelations during the discussion already have made major headlines in the national media.

U.S. News & World Report reported that Palin’s visit to Newsmax last week for the show’s taping was the clearest sign yet that she is seriously contemplating a presidential bid for 2012. Newsmax is the most-read website for conservatives in the nation, U.S. News noted.

During the interview, the GOP’s 2008 vice-presidential candidate addressed a wide range of issues, with her most serious comments focusing on national security, specifically the threat that Iran will acquire a nuclear weapon.

"We have to realize that, at the end of the day," Palin warns in the interview, "a nuclear weapon in that country's hands is not just Israel's problem or America's problem — it is the world's problem. It could lead to an Armageddon. It could lead to that World War III that could decimate so much of this planet."

Palin’s reference to Armageddon, described in the Bible’s book of Revelation, refers to a final battle between the forces of good and evil over the existence of the state of Israel.

[Editor’s note: You can see an excerpt from Newsmax’s interview with Gov. Palin by Clicking Here Now.]

Following are some of the many highlights of the extended Reagan-Palin interview being aired Tuesday:

* When Americans elected Barack Obama as president, they expected the economy and jobs to be his top priority. Instead, Palin tells Newsmax, the administration decided, "despite the will of the people being against Obamacare, we're going to shove this down your throat anyway."
* Palin talks about being mocked for her warnings about what Obamacare would bring, including so-called “death panels.” She tells Newsmax: "I was about laughed out of town for bringing to light what I called death panels because there's going to be faceless bureaucrats who will based on cost analysis and some subjective ideas — somebody's productivity in life — somebody is going to call the shots to whether your loved one will be able to receive healthcare or not: to me, death panels. I call it like I saw it and people didn't like it."
* She predicts that President Obama will continue favoring big-government nostrums, and she describes him as "quite naïve" and "stubborn." In one cryptic reference, she suggests that others may control Obama, stating that whoever “is pulling his strings" will not let the president adopt free-market solutions that would solve the nation's economic problems.
* Palin contends that Obama is "slamming us to the mat" economically by opposing the extension of the Bush-era tax cuts. The nation "will be slammed with the highest tax increase in our history" unless the tax cuts are extended, she says.
* The best-selling author and Fox News commentator says she wants to "call out" Obama for his conduct of military operations in the Middle East: "I want to say, 'You're going to send our troops there in the danger zone, you better have a darn good reason why they're going, and you better be committed to victory.'"
* Allowing Islamic-oriented laws in U.S. communities would be "the downfall of America," Palin says, adding that Americans "will not put up with any hint of Shariah law being any sort of law of the land."
* In greater detail than ever before, Palin talks about what factors might persuade her to run for the 2012 GOP presidential nomination. She even describes how a Palin presidency might look.

Palin, the best-selling author of "Going Rogue," has a new book debuting Nov. 23, "America by Heart: Reflections of Family, Faith, and Flag."

I wish Sarah would tell me how she plans to fix things, instead of reminding us what is wrong and what she predicted was going to happen with Obama. Or have I missed that from an earlier speech.

So long and thanks for all the fish!

I'm getting tired of this stuff...

There was a point in time when the Dem's were doing the same finger pointing at the GOP and now Palin is doing the same thing to Dem's.

I'm all for getting things back on track but man it would be nice to have someone actully do something about it.

Sounds like were cooking with gas....

Shes a bit rough, but Sarah Palin looks to be the Reps best hope in 2012. Sad but true. Who would she run with ? I take it she would want the lead ticket too ?

If Sarah runs Obama will win again. I hope the republican party does not make the same mistake they made in the last election by having her run in either position. I do not feel America is ready for her to be president or vice president. Just my opinion and I could be totally wrong.

If she runs. And, she runs against Obama with rock solid principles of "less government" and "less taxes", she will win.

By then, the American people will have a belly full of the opposite. Obama will not be able to BS his way out of the results of his first 2 years.

Dennis,

I agree with your logic however, Palin isn't smart enough to win. Wait Bush 2 was in there sorry I meant she doesn't have enough support from half of the right let alone the rest of the population. Now what she does have is the thumbs up to rip the dems while the Reps try to calculate a come back.

She will be the scape goat.

good thread my man.

Could be. But, of course, we don't know if she is going to run. Chances are, at this time, she will. She will have others to knock her off the saddle. She might run as a symbol of the tea party. Who knows?

Still, I think that if she ran as a solid conservative against the socialist Obama, and is backed up with a solid conservative Congress, she has a good chance of winning.

Besides, She's Hot !!

Reagan is a far cry from the current Republican party. They can't go on his legacy anymore. They have Bush Jr. and now Palin. If this is all they've got representing the republicans, Palin will flop as Bush Jr. did and after 2016, no one will ever vote Republican again. It will undo the party.
Don't overlook the damage the Obama/Palosi team has done to the Dems. At least, at this time, they are worse off than the Repubs are. That is, until the Repubs screw it all up.

The time for a third party is getting ever closer. We (independents such as I) are sick of BS from either side. A bunch of frikin clowns to vote for.
You'll get no argument from me on that one.

It will fully depend on how much further damage is done to the USA by both sides as we get closer to 2012.

I agree with needing a 3rd party!

Now I will say this Obama has not I repeat has not messed up the country. Pelosi and that congress did! I say Obama did not mess anything up as he has done spit in office but sign bs pres orders that can be unsigned by the next pres.

This health care bill wasn't Obama's it was what he had to do as repayment for getting in office. He's rich and could care less about it. Stupid Barney the purple dinosaur and Botox Pelosi screwed us.

Our congress is horrible. This is where I agree with the Tea bags, clean out congress and force a 3rd party this should make things a little more honest.

This is America! not the old USSR, or China, Cuba, etc

Sounds like were cooking with gas....

Obama went well out of his way to promote all the damage that Palosi set forth in the Congress and the Senate. He gave many, many speeches promoting that agenda, then signed them into law.

He IS definatley as responsible as Palosi & Reid.

While I'm not disputing this I'm saying that he is a hollow shell, kinda like a puppet and does what they ask him to do. You know a sell out.

That's why I said he hasn't done anything. Remember if he's not reading his speeches stink.

We hear that "Puppet" business a lot on both sides. In my mind, its nonsense.

Obama promoted, with a lot of energy on his part, and still promotes legislation that the vast majority of Americans dis agreed with strenuously.

To let him slide on that in any way is a cop out.

Hey I don't like him as much as the next guy.

Yes he does promote the bs and he lives in it. But let me ask you this. If that was your job would you do it?

I have to tote the company line for penny's of what he makes. His family is set for the rest of thier lives and so is anyother President that promotes bs to the general public thats why its politics.

Bush had the same pork projects all the way back to Reagan. Hell I have Perry here in Texas and during election time he's all about the border and when it's not he's forcing vaccines for little girls.

I agree with your politics minus having Palin in office. But at the end of the day to them this is a business/gamble, playing with our money.

Sounds like were cooking with gas....
