Need to replace the transmitter battery in my DX7. Not going to go the LIPO route. Who makes a good nickel metal that will fit in the DX7?

Battery Replacement
I suspose you have to ask yourself if you want to stay with the MFG Stock Battery or change to a aftermarket brand.
Personnely, I have always trusted the JR Brand sold thru Horizon Hobbies/Heliproz/Rons.
Hope this helps..

Should you decide to go aftermarket, definitely the A123. The spec's on A123 batteries are phenomenal. You can charge it at the highest power most chargers can charge at. The only downside is the charge must have an A123 (LiFe) setting.

Thanks AG. Perhaps I will get a LIFE. In addition to getting a life.

Are you running one of them in your JR Transmitter?

+1 On AG's reply. I have one installed on my DX7 for the last 6 months or so without issue. It can be charged with the wall wart or removed and charged on an A123/Life charger. It's wired to go with the correct connectors. It lasts FOREVER!! I have flown an entire fun fly (4 days) without the need to recharge, but of course I cannot recommend this behavior. Usually I charge each time I take it out.

Here are the responses I got when I asked a similar question.
I finaly broke down and ordered some eneloop batts from hangtime last Monday. My TX Batts were getting pretty bad, and I never caught the hobbyking batts in stock.

Like EmmDee said they are great. I use them for all my trans, and Rec power.
Ulmost no self discharge, No voltage problems, very fast charge rate, and safer than Lipo's.
I think a JR wall charger can still be used with them. I charge with my Cell Pro.
