Hey JR guys does any one know how to program a gv1 gov on a 9503 to have the f-mod switches reflect the rpm on the gov?

F-mod -- assume that is the flight mode switch, the governor control would need to be plugged into RX channel 5.

Go to the input select menu that allows you to enable/disable different switches, and find the GEAR switch...change that setting from "INH" or "ACT" to "GOV".

The flight mode switch will now run the governor control lead plugged into channel 5 of the RX.

You'll also now have a GOVERNOR menu where you can set the governor control number for the flight modes selected by the flight mode switch.

Input Select Menu showing GOV function enabled:

Governor Setting menu with extended flight modes turned on:

Which Gov screen...the one on the TX or the one on the LCD of the governor control unit?

I've done some reading, and I've done some experimenting with my TX (no, I don't own a GV-1), but reading the manual and a few other things has given me some ideas.

Before I can answer your question, I need to know how many channels will the receiver you're using have? If it's a 9-channel, the answer is dirt simple. If it's a 7-channel, well things get a bit more tricky.

heliboy, in response to the thread I replied to (It looks like you posted 3 different threads about the same thing?)

There isn't "one" way to setup your Gyro and Governor with the 9503.

I have a GY-611, GV-1 and R921 RX on my T-Rex 600N, and I'm using the 9503 radio.

I personally do not use the Governor or Gyro menus available with the 9503, it's easy enough with the GY611 and GV-1 to setup everything using the travel adjust menu and the Amps of the GV-1 and GY611.

As I said in the other thread:

GY-611:

Plug the "black" connector into the rudder channel. Plug the "red" connector into the gear channel.

GV-1: Plug the Ch.3 "Throttle" lead into your throttle channel.
Plug the "Aux/RPM" lead into your AUX2 channel.

DO NOT plug in the On/Off lead.

Setup in Radio:

Start the radio in system mode. Go to Device Select and set Gear to the Gear Switch, and make sure it is set to ACT on the bottom. Set AUX2 to "FMOD SW", and also make sure it is set to ACT on the bottom.

Switch off, and turn the radio back on (Or hit the enter button) and then go in to the function mode.

Go to the travel adjust screen. Set the Gear channel to +33 and -42 for now.

Make sure AUX2 is set to +100/-100

Your FMOD switch should be cycling through RS1, RS2, and RS3 on the GV-1 now, and you'll be able to program the headspeed on the GV-1 AMP.

Note: The gear channel values I gave you are just preliminary ones. You can look at your GY611 AMP and see on the display how much gain the Gyro is seeing. Adjust the + side of the Gear channel to change the gain in Heading Hold mode. Adjust the - side of the Gear channel to change the gain in normal mode.

One question. When i set GYRO SENS to AUTO or Rudd D/r the GEAR switch in DeviceSEL menu turns automatically to GYR. I am using a spartan gyro. Should i not use the GYRO SENS menu?
