Just got mine Saturday, opened it up and got busy.the heli went together rather quickly and I enjoyed the build. But there are a few "opinions" here and a few things I've noticed that will interchange over from other raptor versions.
to be such a nice kit,I was disappointed to see the same plastic tail pulleys from previous versions.
1.out with the plastic pulleys,in with the ones off my titan 50se.
2.plastic fan.nothing really wrong with that, but this heli is supposed to have it all.out with the plastic fan,on with the TT metal fan off my Raptor 50.Nice.
3.plastic blade grips.TT makes some, but they really are not much to look at,tried the ones off my rappy 50.Just doesn't match the beautiful x50 head. So,I will be using the ones that come with the kit.
4.plastic tail case.Had the nice Mavverikk one on the titan se,works good on the X50 as well, now we can sport the x50 metal tailshaft pulley.
now if we could get ahold of some metal bearing blocks.....
the landing gear,I wasn't too crazy about either.looks like it would'nt take a hard landing very well.Let's hope we don't have to test that LOL.
Things I do like about the kit.
Great manual, very good detail and drawings.liked the actual sizing on the bolts, match and go.
Glad to see minimal screwing into plastic, everything else was machine screw into metal.
Good looking canopy, with nice thumb latch on bottom.
very nice head, capable of +-15.very nice tail grip assys.
came with good blades for the head and some stiff plastic ones for the tail.
here's my total set-up
O.S.hyper 50(broken in and running strong from another heli)
Curtis MP5SB pipe
Futaba bls451 on cyclic,and throttle
Solid G Gyro,Futaba tail servo
Curtis atgV3
2200 mas 2s lipo
Castle Pro Bec

I have flown a few set-up tanks this morning, before work and believe I will like this heli as much as my 3g Trex600.

Skids
Anybody know if the regular raptor V2 skid struts will fit the new X50?

I don't think they will because the X50 is much slimmer than the previous Titan SE. You'd have to drill new holes for mounting. I personally like the X50's landing skids; they're beefy and strong.

yes.. i bought mine on friday and i did put them on. you have to drill the old holes outward just a smidge. the x50 holes are a little wider but with the v2 struts are wider and much more beefy.i put it to the test today its great and i am going to keep it up a mistake high till more parts are out there..

oh and if they wanna sell more they better come up with a better color schemes like brighter and bolder colors insted of S#!t brown white and red..if not i think it will turn into the E620 and disappear.if tt is going for gold they better listin to there feedback.

I have to agree with everything in the original post, but I have to add that I could not believe the way the header tank was mounted. I will be creating my own mount for the header tank that hopefully will be much sturdier. I was also suprised that there is not a rear mount for the tail servo.

OL ROY,LOL!
I started about 4:30 Sat and at 1:30am she was radio ready. Then Sun morn about 10 till 3 getting the radio in and set up.
the wife told me "she wouldn't see me for three days"
beat her timeline with a day to spare

Rob,ds11us,
I haven't tried the v2 skids, although I do know that the maverikk super gear works and looks great. You will have to slot the holes because the x50 is so narrow.the stock gear seems strong, but after a flame-out inverted, and a crappy auto, had to be replaced.I was pleased to see the gear not break all the way.5 min epoxy and we're good to go.

so how's everyone putting the battery on this bird? The tray has a "hook" on the front.I thought about sawing it off so my 2500 2s lipo will fit.I have it installed on the right side of the tray with zipties for now.

3 tanks on this heli now,and I really like the way it feels in the air.I haven't really beat on it yet, getting used to the "lightness".
running +-12 and it is quite poppy.

I trimmed the little tab on the bottom of the tray and mounted the reg and battery under it . That way I had the reciever and multi gov on top .

and a half gallon later....
the X50 now has a half gallon run thru it.
if I had more time,I am sure it would be more
I am really happy with it so far,TT has done their homework, and have been listening to the pilots.

It would be interesting to know how the eccpm conversion kits for the "older" style raptors stack up against this purpose built model.
I am sure weight would come into play, but I wonder if anyone has both,or has flown both and could comment on the flight charastics between the two
