I love this hobby but sometimes have a hard time getting the cash around for some of the more pricey items.

Does anyone know of any well known shops that have a layaway policy? If not than I would hope that one of these company's would see this post and maybe come out with a layaway policy.

I don't know about anyone else but its hard to save money for some of this stuff. I feel like in my situation I will be more vigilant in putting a little towered it every week when I stand to loose what I already have into it. lol

Does anyone else agree?

Its a win win . We get the items we want . They get a boost in sales. if we don't pay! we loose our money. I don't see how they could go wrong.

And in this economy im sure they could use the sales.

I have seen hobby shops come and go. The only downside I see with this is when they do go out of business. Your money is toast.

Some shops would take orders knowing that they are about to go out of business. Well, you know how that story ends.

I pay cash for everything in this hobby. If I don't have the cash then I can't afford it. This restricts me (makes me cheap too) - Credit cards are evil, layaway isn't much better. Besides think about putting something on layaway then when you are ready to pay it off and get it something newer/better/cheaper may have come out by then.

The thing is that a layaway plan you would just log into your account and go to your layaway items and make a payment. Gift certs can get lost, or maybe even expire before you use them.

If horizon hobby or readyheli were to do this it would benefit them as much as us.

HighFlyHeli.com has a layaway program. I have not used it but I have made purchases there before and received good service. I have also seen them recommended elsewhere.

I just bring my hobby shop money every week, and when i build up enough to buy something i just pick it out and bring it home.Sometimes i get something and just pay for it at the end of the week(this pisses the wife off the most,i tell her to go by the hobby shop and pay my marker)

I just wish I had a local hobby shop that carried heli stuff. The closest HS to me is ExperienceRC. Those guys are great! BUT they are 2 hours or so away from me.

Transfer your left over cash to your PP account every week.

It'll be a new .90 before you know it.

I literally never use the word literally right.

lay away is a stupid thing imo. Are they giving you interest for holding your money before giving any goods away? I lay away my money for myself and at the end of a year, the interest alone will pay for more than half of a set up. Rule of the world, let your money work for you, not the other way around.
