I wanted to create a place where pilots in the Bay area can openly communicate.

With so many pilots and flying fields around the Bay this will give us all an opportunity to see what everyone else is up to and where the best flying sites might be.

If you have a place to fly or are looking for one, drop a note here.

Spent a day at the field in Morgan Hill last Sunday and saw a TDR fly, very cool. Also spent a little too much money at Aeromicro, great store.

You guys have some great weather down there.

I flew there a week ago, not a heli friendly environment especially if your a 3D guy like myself.

If you liked that other shop, wait until you get a load of HelEXpress! 100% Helis Only and the place to be when it comes helis in the Bay!

There is not going to be a website for our retail store, at least not now.

The store is for walk in customers only and is not an online store in any way.

Hi Mike,
No website? How will people find your shop with a Google search? I suppose you can register your business so it shows up, but a simple informative website would certainly help pull in customers looking for a hobby shop.

I personally think it's great that the bay area has it's first heli only retail shop. No doubt it'll pull in customers from all over the bay area. There are quite a few pilots in the north and east bay. Probably way more then Silicon Valley.

We really need a better field as well. Flying in vacant lots with no facilities or space for autos isn't great.

East Bay Checking in.

A centralized heli friendly, AMA sanctioned field would be so awesome.

There will be a 1 page simple site for directions of course, just not for sales.

So far we are on track to open Saturday and we are 1 day ahead of schedule!

Here are some pics from this morning!

Bay Area Fields
Actually, since I drive all over the Bay Area for work, I'd love to know where everyone flies. Right now my frequent stops are:
Berkeley Marina (great time of year right now to fly there)
Sierra Point, back parking lot
Baylands (bleh)
Component in SJ
Bayfront
RSA
A few spots in Alameda
San Rafael (near home depot), but it's private property, so I have to be careful, but it's close to my office

Anyone have any other suggestions? i.e. further North Bay or in the East bay?

Lloyd
