On the other hand I have seen no less than 5 separate accounts of CC BECs failing to the OPEN position and sending main pack voltage to the electronics frying everything
Just wondering if you know how many were on a full 10-12S?

Thanks

One on HF and one here. The rest were 6s I personally had a CCBEC (6s version) blow up on the second spool up and it took out my Kontronics ESC

I have never had a brown out with a Kontronics BEC.
Don't you run a DC-UP on your helicopters to help assist the Kontronik's BEC?

If Kontronik's built in BEC is as good as everyone says(as it should be expected given their price point), why is this even necessary and why would anyone want to spend more money on another device unless they felt the built in BEC was inadequate in the first place?

I could have told you that that BEC was inadequate for your T-REX 500 setup.

Yes I did AL, I like to OVER do my electronics setups. I have 2 DCUPS as a matter of fact. I use it as extra insurance in the case I have a main pack lead failure (happened to me). The DCUP allowed me to save my heli from any damage . I would gladly remove one for you to fly my heli to prove the BEC is plenty robust for my setups.

Not according to CC (who I called prior to usage and I also verified this with another well known CC user here)

What is a "DC-UP"?

EDIT
It is a capacitor system designed to relieve your Receiver Bus from lower voltage swings due to high current spikes and prolonged current draw. The unit is simple and easy to use. The DC-UP Mark II has 1 JR lead that is plugged into your RX Bus. When the Plane or Helicopter is powered up, the DC-up charges it's capacitor bank. It then lays in wait and supplies bridge amperage as it is demanded by your servos, and or other radio equipment.
Unnecessary imo with duel leads on the Jive HV controllers. I've never had the slightest problem.

You have done it before! My older Logo 600...you know the one with the latency issue .... had that exact setup.

It's a capacitor bank circuit that helps smooth out Rx voltage under heavy servo loads.

I thought it had a Jazz 55 with a WR BEC?

Actually, I felt your older setup with the Gohbee blades flew better than your current setup.

The last time you flew it, it had a Jive.

I had a series of lockouts on my Srimok electric I blamed on brownouts from my Jive BECS, thought that was weird as no probs on my German 700s. To cut 3 crashes and numerous lockouts short it turned out to be extreme vibration spikes blinding the vbar sensor causing loss of cyclic, we all thought it was brownouts. Not till error logs on V5 came along and an inflight voltage monitor that the truth was revealed.

I've had plenty of Jive, Jazz and CC. I like the Jive BEC and they do seem to run multiple pole outrunners better, I always thought the CCs ran Neu inrunners better

I got a new 120hv back from castle last week to replace another bad ESC. This one caught fire on its 3rd flight.. maybe 10 to 12 minutes total and I was running 6s... in the middle of hover. I guess i should of not updated to their latest firmware...or i guess you can call it fireware!!! Either way i have purchased all YGE escs and Kontronic. Its just worth getting burnt over...this time i actually burnt my hand trying to pull the battery to keep even more damage from happening!!
