your engine is running away because you dont have enough pitch. You state 8 degrees. I would increase that a degree or two.

Yea,
I think I'm finally starting to get a few things figured out with this heli. Things are starting to work much better now.

Hi,

You will probably need more pitch range. There were some arm extension that give +10/-10° angle pitch. I didn't remember the part number. I have to search it out.

You can also get the Zeal mixing lever Z3031 cyclic lever II. The Z3011 cyclic lever are same as the stock one (look at the picture below).

Thanks Tom,
I'm maxed out right now with +8 and -7. I'll try and find the arms.

Does anyone know what blade grips to avoid?? In my serching for parts, I've come across a Tech Notice that certain blade grips will fail. These came out on the Nexus helis.

I've got a simple way to find a "good" blade grip: The Concept 30 line use a 3mm screw and the Nexus 30 line use a... 4mm one.

An another way is to get the Zeal main rotor grip (Z3012).

EDIT: Nice play Jean-Pierre, you find the extension arm

The longer mixing arm was made by Ferris Mold and Machine. Keep in mind these only work with SE (bearing type) mixing arms, not the DX mixing arms. Here are a couple of photos. -Steve

Are Concept 30 main blade grips interchangeable with Caliber 30 main blade grips?

No they are not. The Concept blades are narrower.

Put a couple more flights on it yesterday and I've about got the tail wag licked. I set the gyro to AVCS, instead of Normal, and had to adjust the sub trim a bit. I'm only at about 36% sensitivity and the wag is all but gone. I almost talked myself into doing a loop with it yesterday!! My Trex will do tight loops. But I'm not sure about this one.

Sweet! Put a header tank on before you do loops just in case. Bring it up high. Take some vids! Not many videos of Concepts around.

Too late,, I took it out again yesterday and put two tanks through it. I also did about 3 loops with it. The loops are a lot larger than I'm used to. I did take it up high for the first one. Once I knew how it would perform, I broght it down a bit. It was a bit breezy so it would drift a bit during the loops, but nothing major. Its a very smooth heli for sure.

Header tanks?? Not sure about them. Can you give me a little more info? Where does it need to be mounted? How big? Plumbing? Thanks.

Does anyone know if a Caliber tial boom is the same size as the Concept? Thanks.

Yes and no. Its the same size, but it needs to be cut down to the correct length. -Steve

Added a couple more upgrades to the SR-X. I've installed an Align 600 size tail brace kit. I've also installed the Ferris extentions. I'm in the process of re-tuning the pitch curve now.

I went ahead and installed the Nexus blade grips on the heli today. Don't have the Align 520's yet, but The blade grips are on. I had to install a couple of shim washers on the feathering shaft, and also on the blade grip screw. Every thing is working smoothly, These grips have the 4mm blade grip bolt also. These grips also align the pitch pushrod much strater than the stock grips.
