Hey Jeff, good to hear from you and I hope all is well.

I am working to secure a location and a date.

As I get solid info I will post it here.

My goal is to shoot for Q1 or Q2 of 2011.

Emails are into the City of Alameda, awaiting their response about using NAS Alameda for this monster event.

Mike, If you could get Alameda.. you're a miracle worker! Any my hero since I live nearby :-)

They hate RC there. City Council shut down their last RC spot (Alameda Hornet Squadron AMA Chartered Club)

... but I've snuck plenty of flights in on that island cuz there's lot's of space (gotten kicked out too though)

I know Richmond's club is shutting down June 2011.. I wonder if they'd be up for a 'last hoorah' and host an event like this before that time?

Tell them that the helis run off fuel cells and solar power. Add that blades farts encourage the California condor to mate. Throw in some yoga lesson booths and Vitamin water and you should get the permits, no problem.

Haha.. no that's Berkeley. Alameda is a bit more conservative than that (by alot!!!) i.e. if they're not war birds.. forget it. (and even they got kicked off)

We're in. We have family in that area as well. FF and visit family at the same time. Always a good combination.

Plus In N Out and real Mexican food are in that area. You don't know how lucky you are. LOL

Let us know the dates.

Not sure if the Mountain View field will accommodate 200 pilots. I will know this week.

Jeff, awesome I will keep you up to date on dates and such.

Finding a suitable area in the bay for a large event has proven to be a bit difficult...but it will happen.
