people have NOT always worship a God. our ape ancestors did not do it because they would not have been able to comprehend nor put forward such a concept (see the chimps, gorillas etc . .). Also you empathize "a God", not a group of Gods, or some other supernatural entity that we can't comprehend, nor etc. . . tells me a lot about your pathetic imagination doesn't it?
This is so true. If the religious put their imagination to better use, there would be no religion. The Romans imagined their pagan gods pulling the sun across the sky in a great chariot. The vikings imagined that thunder was Thor's way of showing his anger, and that they would have an afterlife in Valhalla with their great god Odin. The Christians imagined that the earth stood on four pillars, had four corners and that they would have an afterlife with Jesus, and that anyone who doesn't believe this is doomed to eternal punishment.

It's amazing how many of the older generation in the U.S. still actually think that some of this is real.
Imagine how much better off the world would be if everyone made better use of their imagination.

Dusty, I understand the reason you cannot, at this time,
step up to Faith in The Resurrection of Jesus Christ.

You simply cannot do this in your own heart and soul.

So please keep on with your argumentation, it's OK.

Men are Corrupt, wouldn't you agree?

Men of the Politic, men of the Church.

All are Corrupt.

This means that every single person, male or female, who
come into your 'orbit of life' either want to sell you
something, or take something from you.

Wouldn't you agree?

And because of the MORAL nature built into us, we KNOW
the difference between the "RIGHT and the WRONG".

With me so far?

During those moments when we perform that which our
conscience screams at us, 'This Is Wrong!', we KNOW, but
we do it anyway.

Right?

Perhaps we 'do' it (wrong) because we like it.

To justify it, we build DEFENSE MECHANISM'S to assuage the
'guilt' that our conscience tells to our soul.

Would you agree this is within you AND within all men, and
women?

Surely anyone would agree.

So we rape, rob, pillage and selfishly relate in all things
to our fellow man. It's everywhere in the world, everyday
in the news we see on TV or Radio and now the internet.

We say, 'talk to the hand' when we don't want to get close
to anyone because we know that here is but another looser
standing in my presence with ill intentions!

If your frame, as a man, is a large, big body, most will
dissuade from: 'screwing with you' for fear of being beat-up.
If a small man, the offender often believes that they can
make headway into screwing you out of something or robbing
and pillaging your life for their own selfish interests.
This also relates to age, when when dealing with a perpetrator.

So what do we do when BURNED so many times?

We LEARN.

We learn not to trust ANYONE.

And we'd be correct.

Why?

The Bible says, ALL HAVE SINNED AND HAVE FALLEN SHORT OF THE
GLORY OF GOD.

ALL are Corrupt.

So I say to you friend, keep on living HARD.
Whether it be Alcohol, the pursuit of women for sexual relations,
Crack, Pot, Crank, uppers, downers, any drug of choice, hit
it hard man.
You have no choice in the matter.

You CANNOT come to God for help. (At this time.)

But I must tell you this:
When you get screwed, blued and tattooed enough and come to
the realization that you cannot prevent the impending
evil from coming into your life, some will take revenge
upon those perps; some will come to all out surrender to God.

When you reach that critical moment when you have simply
had 'enough'; this is the place of surrender where you will
meet God. This is where HE may reach you with His Love, Mercy
and Grace! (This may become true for you PROVIDING you are really
ready to surrender, and are not going to do more wrong by
say taking a gun with you to destroy the one who injured you.)

Do you understand what I am saying here?

Go on and party, and do it HARD.

You cannot trust GOD now any more than you could trust your
border collie to bring you a full course dinner!

Did you know that the Jews desired a BIG GOD to come and
kick their enemies a$$ for them?

This is the reason they, and many of us, miss GOD today!

HE came to the earth, but HE didn't come to kick A$$.
HE came to Die for us.
And HE proved HE was and is GOD when HE rose from the
grave (A borrowed tomb) in His Rebirth, The Resurrection.

You cannot see the Resurrection now as truth.

Why not?

Because you too friend are one of the corrupt men.

Why did God Die in Jesus Christ you ask?

For YOU.

So that ONCE you surrender to HIM, invite HIM to save
you from the corruption of this world, HE will save.

HE IS THE SAVIOR.

But sadly you cannot do this now.

It is the gift of God. (You must receive His Gift!)
You are not willing to do so as your arguments declare!

Some of us here, including that very hard to understand
Greyeagle (Who LOVES the Lord Jesus), have surrendered to God.
And God, in His Mercy and Grace, has allowed us to be
endowed or enabled to SEE JESUS and All He portends to BE!

We who have been enabled to LOVE God for what HE has already
done for us have PASSED FROM DEATH UNTO LIFE.
We have RECEIVED His Most Glorious Gift!

One last tidbit of information:
Why did the rich man, Joseph of Arimithia, offer his
expensive tomb, hewn in the rocks, to the Lord Jesus
for His Burial after His Death on the Cross?

{Because he knew that the Lord would only be
needing it over the weekend!}

ROCK ON DUDE!

I love gravity, it always keeps my feet planted when I fly!

Jesus' name ruled 'unconstitutional'

Posted: October 28, 2011 By Drew Zahn

Judge says prayers to Christ 'do violence to America's pluralistic, inclusive values'

A board of county commissioners in North Carolina is asking the Supreme Court for help: Its members don't believe they should have to forbid volunteers from mentioning the name of Jesus in prayers offered before their meetings.

But the American Civil Liberties Union and Americans United for Separation of Church and State are standing by their victory in a U.S. circuit court decision that states even "a solitary reference to Jesus Christ" in invocations before the Forsyth County Board of Commissioners' meetings could do "violence to the pluralistic and inclusive values that are a defining feature of American public life."

Furthermore, wrote Judge James Harvie Wilkinson III in the Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals majority opinion, legislative invocations offered in Jesus' name are inherently "sectarian" and thus should be censored lest they make some attendees feel "uncomfortable, unwelcome and unwilling to participate in … public affairs."

What is Christianity's role in the nation? Find out in "Christianity and the American Commonwealth"

But the board disagrees, and with the help of the Alliance Defense Fund is asking the Supreme Court to trump Wilkinson's ruling.

"America's founders opened public meetings with prayer; this county simply wants to allow its citizens to do the same," said ADF Senior Counsel David Cortman in a statement. "We trust the U.S. Supreme Court will want to review this case because of the long history in America of offering prayers before public meetings. Public officials shouldn't be coerced into censoring the prayers of those invited to offer them just because secularist groups don't like people praying according to their own conscience."

(Story continues below)

For years, the board has extended an open invitation to religious leaders from the community to volunteer a prayer before its twice-monthly meetings, asking only that the invocations "not be exploited as an effort to convert others … nor to disparage any faith or belief."

But a pair of local citizens, Janet Joyner and Constance Lynn Blackmon, attended the meetings regularly and were bothered by the frequent mentions of Jesus in the prayers. After the pair sat through yet another Christian prayer, this one including references to "the Cross of Calvary" and the "Virgin Birth," they sued the board of commissioners with help from the ACLU and Americans United lawyers.

After a pair of appeals, Judge Wilkinson handed down a majority opinion Americans United called "a major win for church-state separation."

"While legislative prayer has the capacity to solemnize the weighty task of governance … it also has the potential to generate sectarian strife," Wilkinson reasoned. "Such conflict rends communities and does violence to the pluralistic and inclusive values that are a defining feature of American public life."

"It is not enough to contend, as the dissent does, that the policy was 'neutral and proactively inclusive,'" the ruling continues. "Take-all-comers policies that do not discourage sectarian prayer will inevitably favor the majoritarian faith in the community at the expense of religious minorities living therein. This effect creates real burdens on citizens – particularly those who attend meetings only sporadically – for they will have to listen to someone professing religious beliefs that they do not themselves hold."

The Forsyth Board's invocations, the court determined, "made at least two citizens feel uncomfortable, unwelcome and unwilling to participate in the public affairs of Forsyth County. To be sure, citizens in a robust democracy should expect to hear all manner of things that they do not like. But the First Amendment teaches that religious faith stands on a different footing from other forms of speech and observance."

Judge Wilkinson concluded, "In order to survive constitutional scrutiny, invocations must consist of the type of nonsectarian prayers that solemnize the legislative task and seek to unite rather than divide."

But does a volunteer's prayer that merely mentions Jesus necessarily "divide"?

The court referenced one of its prior decisions in which it ruled a town council's prayers "clearly 'advance[d]' one faith, Christianity, in preference to others … because they ended with a solitary reference to Jesus Christ."

The ruling further projected, "As our nation becomes more diverse, so also will our faiths. To plant sectarian prayers at the heart of local government is a prescription for religious discord. … In their public pursuits, Americans respect the manifold beliefs of fellow citizens by abjuring sectarianism and embracing more inclusive themes."

Judge Paul Niemeyer, however, dissented from the two majority judges in the three-judge panel that heard the case, arguing that the court is, in application, "regulating" public prayer.

"When offering legislative prayers in which the Divine Being is publicly asked for guidance and a blessing of the legislators, religious leaders will hereafter have to refrain from referencing the Divine Being with the inspired or revealed name," Niemeyer wrote. "The majority has dared to step in and regulate the language of prayer – the sacred dialogue between humankind and God. Such a decision treats prayer agnostically; reduces it to civil nicety.

"Most frightfully," he continued, "it will require secular legislative and judicial bodies to evaluate and parse particular religious prayers."

Alliance Defense Fund Senior Counsel Brett Harvey agrees.

"The decision is troubling on many fronts," Harvey wrote in a blog post. "It is out of step with many other federal courts that have considered the validity of public invocations, including the United States Supreme Court. It ignores the religious heritage and history of our nation. But more troubling is the impact of the court's decision on prayer itself. ... It requires the government to censor private prayers and engage in comparative theology."

He concludes, "The Constitution prohibits the government from deciding which religious words are acceptable and which are not, even if the goal is to make people feel more comfortable."

""all you've done is accused me of being bitter, cold, tactless, childish etc. . . etc""

wow sks, why am I not surprised that you are NOT taking the reasonability for why I said those things, could it be you have no feelings, because that is the way you act

I am done with you, you want to talk helies I will talk helies, but here on this thread I'm done with you,, here you are simply Trolling to indulge your rude English-ways that I have had enough of,
you are talking about something you do not feel, and because you do not feel it you do not understand it, so because you do not understand you insult us "again>" with your rude, girlish, childish ways, and you don't take reasonability for it, as any child wouldn't, seen it in many children, mostly girls,,
I just hope you don't ever turn some sweet kid to your way (rude and un-friendly), it would be a shame for her/him to act like you,,

so there you are girl, keep running your mouth about something you don't feel..

(BTW, I may reply to your replies, but I will not be replying to you)

Town Protests Atheists’ Threats by Chopping off Part of Controversial Water Tower Cross

Posted on October 27, 2011 by Billy Hallowell

Remember the controversial cross on a water tower in Whiteville, Tennessee? Earlier this month, the Blaze reported that Mayor James Bellar was planning to cave to atheists’ demands and have the religious symbol moved to private land.

Bellar, who defended its presence, claimed that the town could not afford to pay for an expensive legal battle with Freedom From Religion Foundation (FFRF) — the “freethinking” group seeking its removal. Thus, moving it to a nearby highway seemed like the best possible solution.

In its new location, Bellar said it would be seen by an even larger audience. But rather than make good on this plan, the mayor decided to voice his protest to the atheists’ demands.

Instead of taking the symbol down and moving it, he ordered one of its arms be removed. So, the cross (minus one of its arms) is still standing on the top of the water tower, essentially serving as a reminder of what FFRF forced the town to do.

The cross after its arm was removed

“This brings to close a sad chapter in the history of Whiteville that can best be described as terroristic, cowardly and shameful!,” Bellar wrote in a letter to Nashville lawyer Alvin Harris. “The fear and terror caused our older people here is shameful. So shame on your client and your firm!”

Technically, without one of its arms, the cross is no longer, well…a cross. The FFRF has called off its plans to sue Whiteville, but has dubbed the mayor’s actions “bizarre.” Of course, the group promises to continue watching to see what happens next.

http://www.theblaze.com/stories/tow...er-tower-cross/

My Comments: Is it any wonder why atheists are the single most despised group of people in the USA?
