I post for those that read through and have yet to make up their minds.
There has been a lot of people that are reading and have read this thread.

From what you said, you have no idea of you have had an impact on them or not. There is no way to know that for sure.

Actually, I think I have had more of an impact on them just showing them your faults in your reasoning. Its not been all that difficult.
when this thread started I knew nothing of religion or the bible.

In this short time I have acquired allot of historical knowledge
So, how can you claim to know as much and be so convinced of what you know in such a short period of time as compared to those that have spent a large part of their lifetimes studying the same? Especially when it comes to claiming you know the beginnings of man.

You see, you make no sense what so ever with that nonsense. You have not evolved enough.

ALL these references are taken out of context and twisted to suit the editor of the site. Sounds as if you have studied the Bible as much as dr out. Lololol.

yes I did

the scrip is what it is, its always been jacked up.

most religious nutters never read the bible so they dont know jack about their own belief.
ALL these references are taken out of context
this is true for some,,,, doesnt change the wording though.

the bible is loaded with contradictions, forgerys and misinformation.

The OT is even worse, and that is where you all buy, hook line and sinker. The creation myth.

The scientific method is our only known way of verifying objective facts based on known data. We make our observations and note facts. We develop a theory that fits the facts. We then test the theory by using it to make predictions and by falsifying it through peer-review. If new, previously-unknown data comes along that falsifies the theory, a new one is made or the existing one is modified so that it fits the facts. It is then re-tested and our model becomes even more accurate. This is how humanity has progressed and achieved great things.

With your particular brand of Christianity, you open the Bible, choose a verse and declare that to be "The Truth". How do you know it's "The Truth"? How do you know the Bible was written by or "inspired" by God? Does the Bible make predictions? Have these predictions come true? Has anything in the Bible been falsified? What new information can we derive from the Bible? Has anyone ever developed anything useful using the Bible?

When you rank the Bible next to the Scientific Method, the SM dwarfs all the achievements the Bible has ever accomplished (to date, my count is zero achievements from the Bible. Perhaps you can update this number?)

The Scientific Method is not a "trump card", it's our only reliable way of objectively and accurately modelling reality.

That never happens... That is exactly why there are so many versions of Christianity. Interpretation and focus on a few verses to suit the need of the believer.

Tom, you have your own interpretation, do you not? Just by hitting that website, you better repent quickly as you were lead down the path to evil and blindly followed.

To claim that there is NOT ONE CONTRADICTION in the Bible is having major blinders on. Do I agree with that entire list? Nope. But it wouldn't take a lot of effort to find a legitimate contradiction out of that list.

Ok Scoyle just pick one and read it literially and in the context that is was written. This means to take into account the culture and all aspects of lifestyles at that exact time when it was written.it has to be understood in the form it was written not by what you think it says.

Secondly you have to read the surrounding text or the meaning of that verse will be not correctly understood.

Proper study will prove all.

Improper study proves only laziness .

Lastly for me scoyle I believe the Bible to be the inspired word of God. I take as a whole and complete work. It is to read and studied literally in the context it was written ( this will take a lifetime to complete ,not just a few weeks as some may think). Nothing more nothing less. Anything else is couruptable by man as well proven by many things here.

Bearing in mind that deception is said to be the devil's greatest trick, how can you be sure that the Bible is the Word of God?

Well It's About Time ! Da !!!!!!
Which have foresaken the right way, and are gone astray, following the way of Balaam the son of Bosor, who loved the wages of the unrighteousness.

But was rebuked for his iniguity: the dunb ass speaking with man's voice forbade the madness of the prophet.

These are the well's without water, clouds that are carried with a tempest; to whom the mist of darkness is reserved for ever,

For when they speak great swelling words of vanity they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through much wantonness, those that were clean escaped from them who live in error.

While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servant's of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage.

For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled
therein and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.

For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness than after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.

But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, THE DOG IS TURNED TO HIS OWN VOMIT AGAIN ; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.

FOR HE SPAKE, AND IT WAS DONE; HE COMMANDED, AND IT STOOD FAST.

I believe the Bible to be the inspired word of God
if there was a one ounce of divinity in the bible, the book would not have evolved over thousand years.

your religion evolved from OT to NT. why didnt god get it right the first time? and bring his son to start in the beginning???

your hell evolved over a thousand years as man evolved.

your god evolved from being married to being jealous and angry and then to being kind and forgiving.

Thomas, after learning how the bible was put together I can promise you there is not a shred of divinity anywhere within its pages.

The deitys, every last one was created by man

God clearly tells the Jews in the old testament, to kill anyone who tempts them to worship another God.

''Suppose you hear in one of the towns the LORD your God is giving you that some worthless rabble among you have led their fellow citizens astray by encouraging them to worship foreign gods. In such cases, you must examine the facts carefully. If you find it is true and can prove that such a detestable act has occurred among you, you must attack that town and completely destroy all its inhabitants, as well as all the livestock. Then you must pile all the plunder in the middle of the street and burn it. Put the entire town to the torch as a burnt offering to the LORD your God. That town must remain a ruin forever; it may never be rebuilt. Keep none of the plunder that has been set apart for destruction. Then the LORD will turn from his fierce anger and be merciful to you. He will have compassion on you and make you a great nation, just as he solemnly promised your ancestors. "The LORD your God will be merciful only if you obey him and keep all the commands I am giving you today, doing what is pleasing to him." (Deuteronomy 13:13-19 NLT)''

The new testament makes it quite clear that this also applies to Christians. Here is one of several passages that confirms this:

"Do not think that I have come to abolish the law or the prophets. I have come not to abolish but to fulfill. Amen, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest part or the smallest part of a letter will pass from the law, until all things have taken place." (Matthew 5:17 NAB)

Given that the earth is still here, why do Christians these days not do what God told them to do?

Clearly you have not read the surrounding passages to know what these messages mean. While the first passage is about life after the Jews left Egypt. They were under the law. Under the law many things were punishable just as we have laws today that carry punishments. The second passage was from the sermon on the mount where Jesus explained the he was sent by he father to fulfill the law. He by his death and resurrection fulfilled the law for all of us and ushered in the period of grace that we are living in now. We under grace should be respecting the law and abiding by it but are not held to the total letter of the law as they were before Christ I believe that This time is nearing an end and the law will be instated again. I know not the time this will happen.God is the only one who does.

There is some similar thoughts and words in these two passages but ther is no contradiction here.

Nope, I reckon you didn't fully understand the surrounding passages. I'll explain..

Agreed.
The second passage was from the sermon on the mount where Jesus explained the he was sent by he father to fulfill the law.
''Fulfill'' is not the same as ''abolish''

"Do not think that I have come to abolish the law or the prophets. I have come not to abolish but to fulfill. Amen, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest part or the smallest part of a letter will pass from the law, until all things have taken place." (Matthew 5:17 NAB)

Did ya miss that one?
He by his death and resurrection fulfilled the law for all of us and ushered in the period of grace that we are living in now.
You're confusing 'fulfill' and 'abolish'. He did not abolish the law. It quite clearly says so, and it also clearly says that the law still applies until 'everything has taken place' which would of course be the end of times, 2nd coming, or whatever; and He and even puts it another way: ''until heaven and earth pass away''.

So, would you claim that 'everything' has already 'taken place', and that 'heaven and earth' have already 'passed away'?

If not, every part of every letter of the law still applies, according to the Bible.

correct, the law was not abolished Christ fulfilled it.

Dusty your problem is you dont understand that right now we are under Gods grace due to Christ life, death and resurrection. He has interceded for us in front of God. This intercession will only last until the second coming. Then again for the next 1007 years the "law" will be imposed as it was before Christ coming.

So many complain that they will only believe in a god they can see. Our sinful nature will not even let us believe even then. look at all that God did for the Jews in getting them out of Egypt and keeping them in the wilderness yet they grumble and complain just as many here do. (exactly the same complaint).

looking back at your past life Dusty how many times have you complained to yourself about your lot in life or a particular situation only later to realize your complaint was really just foolishness.
