Sorry for the tardy reply. Yes, we still need radio equipment and would be happy to accept what you wish to offer. All we ask is that everything be in working condition and include chargers (if applicable) and documentation.

Fantastic Keith! Please let me know when you are ready to ship and I will get the proper address to you!
Sure will, probably have it ready to go out Saturday. Motor should be here Thursday and will have a Phoenix 45 ESC and HS65 servos by Friday. Then all that's needed will be the Rx and Lipos

Also; have some extra Main blades and another GY401 I took off my MT 325SE replaced by a GY520.

What chargers do you have already? I have some slightly used 3S packs I could send your way. When I bought them for my 450 from HK, I bought 10 of them since they were on sale. I could live with sending a few your way to help with the 450 that is being sent.

I would also include an adapter that goes from Deans to the XT60 plugs I use as well as a couple pairs of XT60 plugs as spares so you can make more adapters or whatever since I don't have any more Deans.

The batteries have only been hovered on, always balanced, and since I have so many, they have very low cycle counts.

Sadly I don't happen to have any spare RX, however if I run across one I'll let ya know. Do you prefer Spektrum/JR or Futaba?

Anyway, let me know what ya think.

Much obliged - I know it would be much appreciated. I'm going to add some XT60 and EC3 connectors for the ESC for them to choose from or make an adapter. Many vendors have stepped up, but don't know where they stand on maintenace tools and charging equipment....

I'm sure when Henry has a chance he'll let you know.

Spectrum is our current brand of choice. We have one very nice FMA PowerLab8 charger but could use one or two additional chargers of any flavor...as long as they can charge up to 6 cells at a moderate rate.

Ok I will keep an eye out.

Also, is the mailing address posted a page back still the correct one to send stuff to?

EDIT: You answered my charger question as I was typing.

Aha...you took the bait, Dave. Yes, your power supply definitely makes the PL8 rock! These guys are learning a lot more than they bargained for including AC and DC electronics.

We will be moving in August along with the rest of Walter Reed to the new facility in Bethesda, Maryland on the same grounds as Bethesda Naval Hospital. We will have twice the hobby space in the new MATC facility some of which will be specifically designated for RC projects. The PL8 along with your power supply will have priority positioning in the charging lab...which reminds me: Do you have a 3-5 foot Progressive RC banner available? I'm in the process of requesting these from all commercial donators. My goal is to take up as much wall space as allowable to let everyone know who you guys are. You would not believe some of the politicians and celebs who strole through from time to time. The political types should know who their donating commercial constituents are.

Your donation has arrived! I'm sorry for the delayed response. I've been experiencing some medical complications which have kept me out of pocket for several weeks. Our flight instructor Bill Kahl has been filling in during my absence although we are shut down until mid-July due to the upcoming holiday and several soldiers being on leave.

Please let me know if and when you receive a thank you letter from The Red Cross. It may take some time as they are preparing to move to Bethesda along with the entire facility...quite an undertaking!

Thank you very much for your kindness and generocity!

First Solo Flight
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jf8VU6ZCph8

Congratulations to Sgt. Ramsey Coggins for making the first successful solo of the program. He is an inspiration and makes us look good!! His instructor is Bill Kahl who has been very helpful to me in keeping this program rolling.

I have been sidelined with medical complications and have not been down to WRAMC for several weeks. Bill has been very instrumental in keeping things going in my absence. He's also a much better pilot than I!

PLEASE READ...UPDATE...WRAMC Move to Naval Hospital In Bethesda, MD
It has been a strange summer to say the least. Between leave, operations (on soldiers) and the move of the entire Walter Reed facility in downtown DC to Bethesda, MD (about 10 miles) we have gotten little done. Fortunately Bill and I decided to keep the remaining kits, supplies, etc. in our possession with full knowledge and consent of the Red Cross and the OT head at WRAMC. Had we let these things go with the movers, there is no telling where they would be now. The actual final move took place during the third week of August and Naval Hospital is still in what can only be described as a cluster f...! There is still furniture and boxes lining the halls and passageways. I'm sure the fire marshall would love it. Bill and I were there last week to secure storage space which there is absolutely none of at this time.

We were able to get a lengthy audience with the Colonel in charge of the Physical Therapy Dept. She explained that they are still waiting for storage cabinets which are not expected until October. She also gave us the cooks tour of the new facility which is nothing short of amazing and huge!

This new MATC (Military Advanced Training Center) facility at Naval is open 24/7 whereas the same facility downtown was closed down eveyday at 1700. That allowed us to store things securely without having to lock it up. Semi-complete heli kits were actually left out in the open on top of cabinets in the old facility and were completely safe. This is not the case in Bethesda so we are forced to wait for the Colonel to assign us cabinets when they arrive in October. These cabinets lock and should keep our "stock" secure when not in use.

The bottom line is for the time being we are in limbo. The project is still active but will not re-start until sometime this Fall. There is no shortage of potential students as they just keep coming. It's unbelieveable and very sobering. I feel extremely lucky for the opportunity to work with these guys and girls. Thanks to a lot of you the oportunity was made possible.

Walter Reed medical center
It was widely reported in the news in August that Walter Reed army hospital was closing at the end of the month. Please check online for yourself. I admire anyone that wants to donate but don't let someone dupe you out of your hard earned money.
