Hi,

I have just upgraded my 250 to a 3G kit whilst showing great potential it is still not locked in enough for 3D. I can get rid of the oscillations so hovers beautifully but if you do a tic-toc or something then it blows out. If I make the gains more sensitive then hovering is crazy.

Does anyone have any tips or set up advice for me? Ideally what are the gains set on the 3G unit? What is the tail gain set to for you?

My setup is, Hyperion HS2206-3900 motor with 15T pinion, Version 2 3G unit, carbon blades and the Align 410 and 420 servos.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Mike

Im taking this back to the top.

I also would like to know an answer. I purchased a 3g kit from Japan before It could be had here for my 250, which was one of my fav helis. Now it sits as im sick of upgrading and trying to get the unit to be half stable.

Has anyone had any luck making a 3g 250 better then the flybar version? If so, please share your success story.

Well since my last post I have got it working a lot better. Heres what I did:
  • Made the tail perfect and slop free.
  • Put super hard dampeners in.
  • Glued the gyro tray to the main frame so there was no vibration or movement possible.
  • Checked and made the Centre of Gravity spot on.
  • Upgrade the software to 2.1 and loaded the T-Rex250/450 preset from the software.
The biggest difference was the last one. However the cyclic is still slow. However just as I was beginning to tweak that a link popped off and it crashed!

Would still like to hear from anybody else though.

Haha you crashed! Only Joking Mike!

I would simply increase your swash mix now to get the cyclic speed back up. Other than that I would be tempted to try the all white Align carbon blades as they are slightly heavier and would be better suited to a FBL setup, they are also cheaper!

60% of the time, it works every time!
