Hi every1

I have a Flightpower Evo-RX 2s2p 3000mAh, and just came back from holiday in Malta 2 weeks and was ready to start charging my RX pack when i notice it looks abit swollen so i check the voltage and its down to 0.02volts. think i forgot to turn the switch off before i left for holiday, is there anyway to save it or is it strait in the bin.

Hmm you may try and use pings to charge the battery without balancing to about 2.5V each in each cell(You can't balance so use a voltmeter check until it becomes 5V) After use your balance block and charge like normal if it doesn't work I think other people can come by and help you.

(Before people say I don't know.. I over discharged all 6 of my car's lipo and charged them back and there working like a charm.)

I have done the same thing a few times now just set your charger to a nicad setting to get itstarted once they are up to around 3v per cell ballance charge like normal.

Who cares... its just money...

I have done that on batteries for a cx 2 and such. I myself would not take a chance on a receiver pack for a much more expensive heli.

I would just bite the bullet and get a new receiver pack. You may even want to consider a li-ion pack, i bought a couple Fromico packs and i am very happy with them.

Thanks alot guys, charged it to 5v with nicad setting and then checked the voltage and it kept dropping as i had the voltmeter on it. Then charged it normaly (i dont have a balancer)i got about 2000mah in to it, ill test it some before i fly it.

If the cell is swollen I would get rid of the pack ASAP. Don't chance a bad over discharged LiPo receiver pack on an expensive helicopter, you will be sorry. Bite the bullet and buy a new pack.

Take Care,
Cheers, Patrick

if it won't hold voltage don't fly it but if it acts as though it always has, if it was me i would go ahead and fly it watching it closely from flight to flight. a hyperion battery i had go to 0 volts that i brought back up didn't have the zippy top end it used to for my foam jets but it does work and balance great fly's just as long as the other 3 do.

my 600cf kit sat in the hobby store for likely 2 years and the 2s 1900mah pack that it included won't hold the voltage and helped cause brownouts resulting in a few crashes i attributed to a small bec and a battery that seemed like it was "leaking power"

but i tell you what they work great for setting up servo's on the bench!

i use the old align 2s pack and the 3a align bec or castle bec with my servo driver to install the horns at neutral before i wire everything to the FBL controller or RX.

kinda rambled sorry lots on my mind today.

Who cares... its just money...

ok so i flew with the pack in the heli and it seemed ok, but after the flight the voltage was about 9v, then i charged it and i got about 1200mah in it and now its at 10.5 volts? is this normal for a 7.4v pack to get to such a high voltage?

Your asking for trouble flying with a bad cell on your receiver pack. Do you risk your helicopter over a $30.00 LiPo pack? I know that swollen LiPo pack would be in the trash if it were mine.

Take Care,
Cheers, Patrick
